I am looking at a 1-bed deluxe (suppose the samller 1-bed) as a potential II trader with preference. I feel the weeks 9-43 is already the best season, is there even a platinum season? The maintenance fee listed is about $560, which is good if it's real.

SHERATON BROADWAY PLANTATION WEEK #27 / UNIT #1130 / ANNUAL SEASON GOLD PLUS / WEEKS 9-43, 47 ONE BEDROOM DELUXE STAROPTION VALUE N/A

Sheraton Broadway Plantation cannot be deposited into II as a summer week. It's deposited with a blended trading power of weeks 9-43 and 47. Even a week 27.

We own a small one bedroom with a MF of about that amount. I believe this will be the small lockoff side with no balcony.

As you are aware, we have been dealing with reduced trading power on our Sheraton weeks. Still a great trader, but there is definitely a big change. I for one am quite unhappy about it, but I will learn to adapt.

I have the larger 1BR gold plus season and for the money I think it’s a good trader. I have traded several times for Old Key West 2BR (with upgrade fee) , Marriott Custom House in summer, 2 BR Marriott Grand Chateau and can see many of the sightings posted. My MF is nearing $700

Thanks for the reply. I am OK with it losing a bit trading power but also curious if it's already the best season for SBP. Is there a platinum season that has even more trading power?
Do you also pay RE tax separately? I feel it's likely the cheapest unit in term of MF I can find as a trader with preference (Marriott or Vistana). Strangely I've never seen a deeded studio in Marriott or Vistana (potentially even lower MF).

Perhaps Palmetto phase has a higher season. Based on the weeks you provided, that sounds like the Plantation phase. I don't even know the official season names per the governing documents, but it is probably something more like Low, High and Prime. Perhaps if you can find something in the Palmetto phase it might have a bit better blended trade power.

A week 9-43 & 47 unit is definitely Plantation and is high season (I used to own a couple of these units).

Palmetto has a much shorter high season; I don't recall the weeks.

Palmetto has a Platinum season weeks 24-35 according to the StarOptions chart.

We own a Palmetto one bedroom premium, and I would love to be able to test the trading power of it sometime, but my guess is that II will still keep the trading power low, simply because Sheraton (Vistana) doesn't deposit any summer weeks into II. Only off-season weeks go to II. Why would they increase trading power for my week 35 Palmetto platinum week.

So for this SVR float week 1-52. I suppose the trading power is even weaker, average of 52 weeks and Vistana may deposit all the burning hot weeks?

Sheraton Vistana Resort - LakesFloridaAnnualWeek 11; Floats 1-521 Bedroom$625.46

It doesn't really matter what they deposit. The trade power is fixed.

Suggest looking for a SVV Platinum 1BR.
trade power has been consistently good.
There has been a general downgrade in trade power but this has held its “power”.
You can likely get a non StarOption unit for free.

make sense. BTW, if I have reserved a week, can I / and when can I cancel the reservation and put it back to trade?

Yeah SVV is a blue Elite resort but MF is a lot higher (over 1000). I am more "value" concerned.

Yes, your reservation would be cancelled and the unit deposited. The actual week reserved doesn't get deposited. Have you considered a Marriott's Willow Ridge Lodge Platinum week? If you are exchanging in II, you want to consider lockoffs only.

Marriott LO makes sense to bring cost down. My guess for Sheraton, it could be as low as $600 MF per unit for trade and Marriott is about $800 per trade using 2bd LO. I like to start with lower cost but again Marriott seems to trade a lot better and not sure how to justify the difference.

It will cost more than the $600 MF for Sheraton week that you listed above when you want to trade because you have to pay exchange fees. Currently, Vistana-Marriott inter trade costs $164. It all depends on where you would like to trade into as to which to buy.

yeah, certainly. What I mean is comparing a low MF Sheraton / Vistana trader vs a low MF Marriott trader, Marriott is about $200 higher per week. But Marriott is a much larger network than Vistana so the preference is probably worth the extra $200. I'd like to have both if possible, I am just worried I get too many too quickly, lol.

The SVV 1BR (smalll-44K) Platinum is $675+102 tax - $777

Thanks for the numbers. For close to $800 MF, I might opt for a Marriott. Does your quote include the program fee for StarOptions?

No program fee, if buying for trading buy one that does not come with mandatory StarOptions. I mentioned the number only to differentiate from the larger 1BR that comes with 51,700 SO.
And since my ownerships are part of Abound, I don’t know what the current VSN fee is.

For my regular trades, like Marriott's Grande Vista, Lakeshore Reserve, Cypress Harbour, the 1 bed B side of the lockoff of Sheraton Broadway is an awesome trader. What I have gotten in the past for trades were beyond what I probably should have been getting for that week. 2 bedrooms at Nanea via ongoing searches was always amazing. It's a great trader, the small one bedroom. Disney weeks are an easy trade with it.

The drop in trading power for Sheratons, generally speaking, is across the board, and only 2 bedroom lockoffs can get 2 bedrooms at Nanea, unless the Nanea week is a low TDI week.

Mine is the same for Gold Plus.

It does not trade as well as the SBP Gold Plus, but it trades pretty well. I was able to get Marriott Custom House for this August through an ongoing search.

I am not sure you can even buy the larger 1BR on its own. Perhaps in the St Augustine phase they split the 2BR lock offs apart and sold them as individual units? I know in Bella and Key West they only sold the 44/37K 1BR units. This being the stand alone dedicated 1BR units that are not part of a lock off.
