SVC switched to Wyndham's RCI as primary exchange company. I never find appealing resorts available in RCI. I always booked great locations in II when they provided exchange for Shell in the past. Is there any workaround to be able to use II with SVC. I have a ton of points available but the resorts in II are much more appealing.

No, now that Wyndham manages Shell and Wyndham/ RCI are the same company, we are stuck with RCI. I empathize with you completely. It's been horrible.

The only real bargain in Shell is Disney Vacation Club inventory that I can get for 2,500 Shell points for a one bedroom through RCI + exchange fee. Disney charges the $190, but it still gets me a great exchange for less than $1,100. I use my Shell for that almost exclusively.

And Disney just announced they are moving to Interval International Jan 1, 2022. There are now No Quality resort on RCI.
and it looks like RCI raised their fees again.
and I spent an hour on the phone 2 days ago and still can‘t get my 2022 fees from Wyndham. The person(s) in charge of their “New” payment site should be terminated immediately. Biggest fiasco ever!

In the case where the management company owns the exchange company, there needs to be consumer protection. I wouldn’t mind if RCI was the default option and we were allowed to pay for II as a secondary. Wyndham has effectively taken steps to block us from even using II while increasing rates for lower quality exchanges while rating costs. That is a complete monopoly! The BOD should have fiduciary responsibility to demand more from the management company, but they are pawns of Wyndham.

I am deeding Shell back to Wyndham. They can have it. I have Wyndham already, and I can get Vino Bello and other resorts cheaper with Wyndham points than Shell. Shell is too expensive to use.

When you say you have Wyndham, I assume it isn’t the Shell conversion? I liked the idea of conversion, but the cost remains the same and they remove the option of RCI platinum that we get with Signature Elite. That is a significant increase in exchange costs and access without any savings. They are ruining the Shell Vacations ownership value. The board needs to protect owner value more and quit rubber stamping Wyndham’s profiteering moves. There is no way to directly contact our board without going through the Wyndham information police. There should be a requirement to provide direct communication to the board. Getting so hard to find quality exchanges. Soon we’ll be limited to the Super 8 and Baymont locations only if Wyndham has their way. Hate Wyndham.
