We will only be needing one extra night in the desert and am wondering what is the difference between the enclaves and the villages as both are available at the same rate? Will be renting a lockoff only so I am assuming that they are pretty much the same as far as amenities. And of course we could splurge and stay at the Ren but is it worth a $50 difference especially with no conc. floor.
Thanks

We are at Shadow Ridge Villages right now. I have never stayed in the Enclaves but I have seen the units and of course they are very nice because they are brand new. Amenities are high end, stainless steel, flat screen tvs. But the units are smaller, so I assumbe the lock-off is smaller as well. I know for a fact that the end lock-off units in Villages section are pretty large, certainly larger than the inside units (which is what we have right now). The Villages are in very good shape and I would rather have more space than fancy amenities (these rooms are very comfortable and nicely decorated.)

My vote then would be for the Villages end lock-off unit.

Enjoy!

My understanding is the lock off units at the enclaves are much bigger than a regular lock off units. In fact, I believe that they are considered one bd units. ( the two bd units lock off into two 1 bd units)

Here is a link to a thread about the enclaves.

There are 2 styles of lock-offs in the Enclaves section. One style is a 1 bedroom with a very functional kitchen, the other style is a studio with mini bar sink and microwave. I'm not sure how you can tell which one is which on the Marriott site. I've never been able to figure it out. :)

Cheers!

That's right. The 1BR lockoff is part of the 2BR Deluxe. We own the 2BR regular lockoff and were told when we bought that the 1BR lockoff in the Deluxe version trades as a 1BR rather than efficiency (like ours and every other lockoff) in II. I can't give you exact numbers but I know there are very few Deluxe lockoffs in Enclaves right now - the vast majority are traditional 2BR lockoffs. I would call the Shadow Ridge front desk to see what they have to say about how the big lockoffs are reserved/exchanged.
