Has anyone gotten an exchange through SFX for a Westin or Marriott Maui week?

The Westin and Marriott resorts are affiliated with II and owners have free II accounts. Owners also have Starwood to Starwood priority with II, so there is very little reason to deposit with SFX.

If you want to trade into the Starwood resorts on a regular basis, buy a cheap Starwood resale like Sheraton Desert Oasis (less than $500 all in and low MF) and trade in.

I can't say specifically about Maui but there are lots of Marriott exchanges on SFX. For example the Marriott on Oahu exchanges with SFX as do many others.

I posted in the Ask SFX at that other forum, and Mark said they do get these.

I don't want to buy another timeshare, and rents are too high for properties I'd like to stay at. I can get Ka'anapali Beach Club easily through RCI, but the combination of high Internet and outrageous parking charges per day are ridiculous, especially when looking at two weeks. Most of the reviews on TUG for Maui timeshares don't mention these items, and I don't have time to check out every possibility.

The Westin Ka'anapali doesn't have any resrt fees, but I think it will be hard to get through SFX. SFX may get a few owner deposits, but all of the bulk space bankings go to II.

I am sure SFX gets fewer deposits but you are overlooking the fact that SFX does NOT get nearly as many requests for them.

True - but Starwood owners have priority for Starwood to Starwood trades in II, so not only are there more deposits in II, but Starwood owners have first priority for Starwood trades, as well.

I believe the II fees are lower, too.
