Master Suite Plus end in 79 or 80.

I keep this list in my document files. It is not a map, but I have descriptions of the buildings.

Buganvilas Building Numbers

11xx is the 1st floor and 20xx (10th floor) 25xx (15th floor.)

Building A - the Tower xx47-66 ocean view – faces pool and ocean

Building B xx87-92 low building ocean front

Building C xx81-86 facing toward pool and ocean view on higher levels - balconies

Building D xx67-80 windows facing toward town and ocean 67, 79, 80 have balconies

Free WIFI in the units for owners. Exchangers have to pay for the code. In 2015, there were routers in each room.

Thanks Phyllis.

So what would be a good building to request for our Master Suite Plus, if we want an ocean view? I think we'd prefer something not on the ground floor, especially if it's facing the pool.

I see by the map that building B (if facing the ocean) would be nice (probably preferred?), although Building A is "closer" to the hotel, but I need some exercise to walk my fat off. haha

The Master Suite Plus units are in D building and xx79 and xx80 are oceanfront. We generally get 1280 which is the 2nd floor. They have always had our unit assigned when we get there. Our main unit is a fixed unit/fixed week, so we just stay in that one. When they assign us a 2-bedroom unit for a bonus week, it varies as to what is available that week. Last year they were renovating the 79 & 80 units so we were assigned a 2 bedroom on the 4th or 5th floor of the building over looking the pool. Our friends stayed there and we were in our regular unit. I have never asked for a specific unit. We are of the "you get what you get and don't have a fit" mode. All of the 2 bedrooms that we have gotten have been nice. A few are still on the need upgrading list, but had plenty of space and were clean. I have only seen people on the ground floor by the pool in February. They do have huge private decks that are shaded. Hubs would like that. He has to stay out of the sun more than I do.

Phyllis...no matter how hard I try to imagine it, I cannot see a driveway there unless they take out the tennis courts, which I cannot imagine. I will be there week one.

Thanks Phyllis!

We normally put a request in, knowing that it's a best effort only (even with HGVC which I actually own, vs. Exchange into).

I'll just ask for "building X and something not ground level with ocean view". Worst case, we don't get it.

I figure it never hurts to ask.

:)

My thoughts too! I read somewhere that that was what they were doing - I will look for it. Comments were that it would eliminate the need to go into town and make all the turns for going to the airport.

We are back at the Buganvilias. :) The other Imperial Sky Suite is not occupied this week, so is a model. I just went down to take a picture from there of the tennis courts and see what they are doing from Bird's Eye view. 3 of the 4 tennis courts had people playing. BUT, something that I have never noticed before is a small apartment complex with parking and a gate. This could be for some Buganvilias employee housing. (My brother who is a Intercontinental / Holiday Inn Executive has told me that often there is housing onsite for the GM and key employees at their resorts. I know that the one in PV had one.)

So, looking at this - I would say that they will be keeping the original Buganvilias Club entrance. Work is going fairly slow on the new Lobby. It is much larger than the old one.

View from 2547 balcony - looking towards Hotel.

Entry view from 2565 balcony. You can see that the Lobby expansion goes almost to the road. There used to be some parking there and a wheelchair ramp plus entry to the Maintenance Shop (building on far right).

By the way, I just got an SFX renewal offer email good through 12/18 that provides one or two 4-night Mexican resort certificates for friends/family. I suspect they’re at Buganvilias, but haven’t called about it yet. Might take them up on it since my diamond level expires next year and I like it there.

We renewed our Diamond level when it was about to expire - there was some kind of promo then. :) The exchanges are significantly lower and we get extra weeks when we deposit our PBEB.

So...the horrible-looking benches are gone? I arrive week one. Did you check in at the club or at the hotel?

We checked in at the Hotel and my guess is that you will too. I cannot imagine them open by January 1. They are still working on the roof and were digging a trench inside today. I counted 36 workers about an hour ago. That was the most that I had seen. 12 were working on the roof. They still have a layer of concrete to pour on top, but do not have all the metal pieces on. They did load some wire for concrete reinforcement up there this morning. All of the roof "sub-floor has not been installed yet. I have not seen any interior walls. We have direct views from both of our balconies. They start at 7:30AM - much to DIL's dismay. Hubs & I are already up having coffee, so no biggie for us. We find it entertaining. A few years ago, we loved watching the excavator placing rocks on the jetty. We find it interesting to see how they do things here.

The rocks on the jetty deal was something! And for what? The first time I was in the tower they were redoing 25 and I wanted the same unit for four weeks. They offered me a unit on 24 with the understanding that they would be working all day. Only noticed it late in the afternoon.

Called about the SFX renewal offer; the resort certificates are for Vidanta at the MP level in a studio, with upgrade possible to GM or GB for $199 or GL for $798 for a 4 night stay. Only good for friends & family if you own at Vidanta. A bit of a bummer, but there's still a discount on the renewal price.

Hey Phyllis, so we're getting psyched to leave on Saturday for our arrival to Puerto Vallarta.

I think I read that there's only "free" Wifi in the lobby. If you want/need it in the room it's like $80/week/device?

The rooms don't have laundry, right? But there's laundry facilities there?

I plan on getting pesos from the ATM at the airport and depending on when we get to the resort, may or may not do some light grocery shopping, at I think Oxxo ? (I think that's really close to the resort).

We had WIFI for 3 devices in unit 1188. They billed us 357 pesos for the week (less than $20), but then took it off because we were owners. Tokens for laundry are 30 pesos for the washer and then the dryer is 30 pesos.

Mega is almost as close as the OXXO and it has the lowest ATM fees we have found and other stuff.

some light grocery shopping, at I think Oxxo ? (I think that's really close to the resort).

I find OXXO quite good for basics .

eggs - OJ - milk - tortillas / bread cooking oil,- bananas - apples - avocados -limes .
and they even have little tetra boxes of spaghetti sauce & spaghetti in a size good for a meal for
2-3 people .

on these items : prices are about the same as a the grocery store or Walmart ;
because Mexican’s buy them everyday .

Some OXXO locations have taco lunch grills - the one near the Sea Garden in Nuevo has a good one .
- as does the OXXO in the PV -marina resort area across the street from Mayan Palace & Raintree Club Regina / Westin .

Enjoy PV -
Think like a local / shop like a local .

Great, thanks so much!
One last one (I hope). LOL
What type of coffee pot filters do they need there? (assuming there are coffee pots vs. Keurig or something)

They furnish them. They are the round white ones. The coffeemaker is an Oster drip one.

On the WIFI - we have found that if you ask the guy in the computer room for a Code, the WIFI works better. We have always had one for the Sky Suite, but they might give you one for a regular Buganvilias Club unit. It would not hurt to ask. I hope that the one we are using this week will continue to work for our 4 free days. We get 8 WIFI signals for our Sky Suite. It was in the contract. That was in 2011 when we did not have many WIFI devices and could not imagine needing more than 2. I have used my phone Hot Spot sometimes to watch KU games and for my Kindles since I just download books as needed. We use AT&T cell service and our plan includes Mexico calling and data usage rolls over at the end of each month . I had 40GB data when we arrived - I have used 22GB since we arrived the day after the start of a new month and have watched 3 live BB games by using my hot spot and Sling TV on my laptop with a HDMI cable connected to the TV.

Phyllis the tech junkie! LOL.

I've been downloading my shows from my Tivo (rather than attempt to stream them), along with some Netflix stuff. I'll hook up the laptop or iPhone to the TV with the HDMI cable to watch some evening shows.
:)

Dad's got Verizon, but it'll cost $5/day for the Travel Pass. Plus he has an old iPhone 5c (if it costs money it won't happen--LOL).

I've got T-Mobile with the One Plus Promo, so I get 5GB 4G LTE included for Mexico/Canada, but not sure what happens after that (I think gets throttled down to 3G). Unfortunately if we add on their new plan, it'll bump us off the Promo plan.

Right now for $100, we get:
2 Phones, unlimited 4G LTE, talk, text
5GB 4G LTE Tethering
Taxes and fees included (which in NY would normally run about $20/month)
And if we stay under 2 GB/month for data, they drop the rate to $90 (taxes and fees included).
Plus get the Canada/Mexico included and all that.

I'll PM you my cell #. Maybe we can meet up one day for lunch or drinks or something.
