I'm trying to sell our Sheraton Vistana Fountain contract we bought in 1992. Nice 2 bedroom 2 bath condo with great pools/amenities resort in Orlando. And I have around 75 RCI points that expire in late 2026 that I would
be interested in selling at a fair price. I'm not sure what that is. My Vistana property has a $1300 a year MF and that gives 25 points to bank if
not using. That can be 2 and sometimes 3 weeks of vacation depending on season and where to. I see some RCI points in the 10's of thousands
and don't understand that. I'm guess a different scale for accounting. Anyone interested in anything I have or information to smarting me up please
respond. gm

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but your timeshare is worthless. You **might** be able to give it away in the free timeshares forum if you pay closing costs. If you don’t believe me, here are some recent closed ebay auctions for Vistana Fountains contracts:

This one has a buy it now price of $19 but includes all closing costs, so the seller is paying several hundred dollars to get rid of it:

Don’t get me wrong, Vistana is a great resort, I’ve stayed there loads of times, and Fountains is our favorite, but you can book a week using getaways or bonus AC certificates, or just in the secondary rental market, for a LOT less than the $1,300 you’re paying yearly in maintenance fees. That makes it unattractive to own as a timeshare.

If you can't get a taker for your unit you can contact Marriott to see if they will accept a deed back. Cost to you would be $400.
Good luck.

With no other Maintance fees etc?

Thank you and don't worry. I know it is worth nothing to the savvy wise buyer. We bought in 1992 for $10K and used it pretty well until now
especially with trading into RCI. Not the smartest to do then but not the dumbest to do over the years. Any value in RCI points expiring in 2026?
We are 75 and our biological travel clock is ticking and have numerous avenues to get to descent resorts so don't really need them if a reasonable offer.
Happy New Year and great travels in 2026. gm

Yes, once you no longer own it, you don't pay. Since @Mulli has likely paid the 2026 fees they might as well use it this year and have the deedback be for 2027 onward.

Deleted, didn’t see that this had been moved to the “free timeshares” forum.

Sheraton Vistana also exchanges thru II and has immediate preference into all Vistana Westin Harborside Sheraton resorts as well Marriott.
A great II trader.

I wouldn't put anything Vistana in RCI.

We go to the islands. The only truly nice resorts on Maui in RCI, just as an example, are Maui Lea at Maui Hill, Sands of Kahana and Kahana Beach one bedrooms, which you cannot get easily as a weeks member, which is what you are, you are not points because that is a different system. In weeks, these units are 45-59 points consistently, but preference for Maui Lea goes to Wyndham and WorldMark owners. That's just how it is.

I can get a 2 bedroom at any of those resorts with Wyndham for much less. Total net cost of about $1,800. A one bedroom at Kahana Beach is about $1,100 (great resort and newly remodeled units).

I can also get a 2 bedroom with WorldMark for $1,300 at the same resorts in RCI.

So it would take you two years + of maintenance fees to get one week in a 1-3 bedroom on Maui in the nicer resorts. But are those the nicest resorts you can get with your week? Nah. You can get Marriott or Westin pretty easily through II. You can also get Kahana Beach and Sands of Kahana through II. But why would you get second class when you can go first class for the same price (even $50 less in exchange fees).

A two bedroom Vistana week should get you 1-2 bedrooms at a Marriott/ Westin resorts, a straight-across trade with $199 exchange fee, not $299.

I just used Maui as an example. I always use ongoing searches and rarely find something I want sitting online.

So your week has value in II and not much value in RCI. Sell it that way, or keep it and use it in II. You won't be sorry, but those 75 points in RCI will be a bust for you, and for that, I am truly sorry for the bad news.

The truth is, RCI can be good for simple trades, and I for one am excited to stay in North Carolina in April at Outer Banks for the first time. It was cheap because it's off-season, but I like cooler weather. But I can get those in II as well. I just chose to use RCI to use trading power I have banked.

Use that 75 points yourself and book New York or some other great location, but beware fees charged by most companies now to stay in their best resorts. Hilton charges fees, but Hilton NY would be worthy of the fees. Wyndham doesn't charge fees, not that I know of.

While there are some true RCI points weeks at Sheraton Vistana Resort, the OP is using the term "points" incorrectly here. The correct term would be TPU since they have a weeks based RCI account.

It's a great resort. We inherited my parents Fountains unit last year and we have some great memories there.

Trips to FL have gone down since it now takes a full day of travel to get there for us. The value for us is in Abound as we can elect for 2600 Club Points, so $0.50/pt - pretty good value for us.

I agree that the resale value is $0 and closing will likely have to be covered. Good luck.
