I have about 100 grand invested in a vacation planned with sunset resorts in Cancun. Does anyone know if it is possible to actually sell my contract and recoup a fair amount of my money? Marian

To answer your own question, go to eBay and check what memberships like yours actually sell for. You may be disappointed.

ALL the value is in vacation use / resale value is about $0

FYI - this applies to most Timeshare ownerships - not just your resort system .

All depends honestly @Marian Reymann on what is included and the terms of the membership.

I’m am reviewing one for sale right now through SMTN.

Maybe we can compare notes and I can advise on what features I see value in and what I’m considering paying for this one under review.

FYI - this applies to most Timeshare ownerships - not just your resort system .

While true in many cases there are a few diamonds in the rough that have some value centers that get overlooked. Sometimes you have to continue to spend in order to capture the increased values so that all is not a complete loss, but it is a rare case indeed.

The first buyer is the one that locks in the value and if it’s not there to start with then no 2nd or 3rd buyer can make it shine brighter than it was in day 1.
