Hello,
I am new here - just cancelled a fresh timeshare at Carlsbad I bought over thanksgiving.
The presentation (I bought at) was part of an offer from Hilton, 3 nights - 268 which I thought was absolutely amazing, I couldn't get Marbrisa so stayed at a diff. hotel which when I toured Marbrisa felt like the biggest mistake ever.
Anyways, I saw on reddit while doing research (after buying my timeshare) that this is a common thing (I got my offer after booking a trip to DC for Summer over the phone so I thought it was a 1-time thing) where these companies mail packages or sometimes email or maybe IG ads, and call me over-excited but I think I can stick through a presentation again if it means cheaper vacations for a few days.
I would like to see how I can get these offers from other resort companies just for the sake of the vacation, I will definitely make sure that the presentations are as short as I can possibly get but this would help as I love the idea of paying less than $300 for an entire vacation.
I am targeting Westin, Marriot (I was able to get an offer just from searching a few times and IG gave me an offer for free), Wyndham, Hyatt (surprisingly was also able to get one from a random google search but to San Diego and that's too close to Carlsbad), Holiday Inn, Westgate, as many as possible.
Any opinions or ideas is well appreciated. If you also have any tips on the best way to have a short presentation. Or if this is a bad idea or possibly illegal, please let me know. I haven't seen much online on this subject
