There are 3 resorts available for exchange, Sedona Springs, Arroyo Roble and Villas of Sedona. It will be myself and my husband. We like a clean unit, the location and view are the most important to us, which one of these resorts should we pick.

I have stayed at all three. All have large units. The units at SS and VOS have recently been updated and are very nice, but there is not much of a view. AR is near Oak Creek and there are good views of the rocks. The units are a little outdated and dark. They were all very clean with well-stocked kitchens.

What size units have you been offered and does that matter to you?
Arroyo Robel are all 2-Br units and a two story layout with Bedrooms upstairs.
The other two resorts have a mix of studio size units and larger.
For location Arroyo roble can't be beat and many units do have nice red rock views. The grounds are nice with oak creek passing along the property line.
THe resort is one of the oldest timeshare resorts in Sedona and does have a dated feel compared to the newer more modern. Its a quality resort non the less and one I would recommend you try.

I agree with Jeff H and EAL. I have also stayed at all three.

The Villas of Sedona has an indoor and outdoor pool. I felt unwelcome there, when I was asked to leave the indoor pool (it was January) because some women were going to have a water aerobics class. I asked if I could join in, and was flatly refused after they found out I had exchanged in. Nothing like rolling out the un-welcome mat.:annoyed: However, our two bedroom unit came with a hot tub on the balcony that was unexpected and quite nice. Still, it was the least favorite of the three.

Sedona Springs was pure luxury. We only stayed there two nights and I don't remember much about amenities. The master bathroom had double doors leading into the bathroom, seperate toilet compartment, and oversize corner jacuzzi. Beautiful two story adobe fireplace. Modern kitchen with brand new appliances (this was in 2000) and just a lot of room. Nicely decorated.

Arroyo Roble was older but had a lot of character. Yes, it is a little dated but somehow made me feel like I was in the Brady Bunch house. We had a two bedroom, bedrooms are on the second floor. Master bedroom had its own fireplace and two upholstered club chairs in front of the fireplace/tv area. Attached bathroom had a jacuzzi and double vanity, all in dated cream tile.

Same kind of tile going on in the galley kitchen. I liked the floorplan of the first floor. Galley kitchen, well equipped with a washer/dryer unit at one end. Large living room with fireplace & tv and plenty of windows. Nice views out of the windows, too. It is also located in the heart of "Uptown" which really puts it over the other two, IMHO. The landscaping is quite pretty and they have a nice indoor/outdoor pool.

All three are good choices. If you haven't been to Sedona before you are in for a surprise. The scenery is truly breathtaking.:hi:

Looks like it's between Sedona Springs and Arroyo Roble then, they're both offering us a 2 bedroom which we could care less, it's only the 2 of us. OK, out there, which one of the 2 should we go for?

The units at Sedona Springs are much, much newer and nicer than Arroyo Roble. The setting is prettier at Arroyo Roble. The choice comes down to what is most important to you. I personally prefer Sedona Springs.

If we sit on the patio at Sedona Springs what is the setting like? Does it have any nice views. I obviously would prefer a newer unit but I would also like some kind of a view, mountains, whatever, something peaceful.

Patio at AR

at least the unit we had, was in the shade with no view. As other posters have noted, the units are dark and dated. But great location and very spacious. You could walk to restaurants and shopping and the locale is good for a respite from the heat.

You'll be looking into a small courtyard with trees and views of the other units.

sedona

we are going to arroyo roblo in october 2007 from a trade. love sedona, this is the first time we are staying for a week. thanks for all the reviews. glad to know we are going to a nice place.

We are going to Sedona for Christmas 2007 and some friends and family are joining us there. So far, I have reserved one 2-bedroom unit at Arroyo Roble and two 1-bedroom units at Los Abrigados.

None of us has ever been there and we are really excited about going.
