Can someone help me understand how there are two designations for Los Abrigados by Interval (one at the Inn and another at the Resort & Spa) whereas RCI only has one? If an exchange is make thru RCI, is the unit at the Inn or the Resort & Spa - or does it become a tossup? TUG reviews treat Los Abrigados as two separate locations -- I assume because of the II separation -- so how do the reviews relate to a RCI-obtained unit?

Also, RCI lists the units as having "no kitchen", whereas TUG reviews seem to indicate that the kitchen, though maybe small, is adequate. Can someone comment on the Los Abrigados kitchens?

Would opinions agree that Los Abrigados (TUG rating 8.3) is overall superior to other Sedona resorts -- e.g. Sedona Pines Resort (TUG rating 7.4)?

Thanks for any input.

I have just bought at the resort and spa, which is a different section than the Inn which I understand are studio units (copper) no kitchen. the other units have 1 or 2 bedrooms with mini kitchens, Jerome unit (1 bed) etc. with a 2 burner stove. I am confused as you are about RCI - II designations, My best guess is that the Inn is RCI and the resort is II. I guess I'll wait till I visit to figure it all out. The price is right. I also understand that the Sedona Club is prefered over the Premire Vacation Club ownership due to ability to reserve a week. Very confusing to me, maybe some others can shed more light on this. The Inn at Los Abrigados is only affiliated with Interval.

RCI is affiliated only with the Sedona Vacation club/Los Abrigados resort & Spa and has 1 & 2 bedroom units. The units have been upgraded to partial kitchens recently. They have a 2-burner stove top, small Refrig, microwave, coffeemaker

Interval is affiliated with Premier vacation club and Sedona Vacation club at Los Abrigados resort & Spa and has 1 & 2 bedroom units.
Interval unlike RCI is affiliated with Premier vacation club at The Inn at Los Abrigados and has studio and 2-bedroom units.

Los Abrigados has a great location,Great Spa and decent restaurants on site. Its located right next door to Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village giving you lots of shopping and a few other restaurant choices all within walking distance.
Most other Sedona resorts however have bigger and better units than Los Abrigados. If your not a family that plans to cook meals the Partial Kitchen at Los Abrigados should be adequate.

Sedona Pines has small Manufactured Home units located way outside Sedona. They are well equiped but I can't recommend the resort unless you can't find anything else.

Sedona resorts I have stayed and would recommend are Sunterra Ridge & Springs,Fairfield,Hyatt and Arroyo Roble all have large units with full kitchens,Washer/Dryer,Wirlpool Tubs,Fireplaces(except Fairfield),DVD/CD players.

We stayed at Los Abrigados Resort/Spa in August of 2001. We stayed in a Jerome 1 bedroom unit ~ and it was fantastic!! We exchanged through RCI ~ there was only a partial kitchen ~ but more than adequate. The whole resort was beautiful... You won't be disappointed!! Have a Great One!!

The TUG rating of 8.3 is more than fair ~~ it's a great place, and we wouldn't hesitate to go back!!

We were at Los Abrigados last September, 06. There were just the two of us in a 1 BR Jerome unit.

I have another suggestion for dinners using the 2 burner stove. There is a grocery store on Route 89 west of town called Basha’s. If you want to avoid going out to dinner, Basha’s has a daily complete precooked dinner special. We had the precooked meatloaf on Sunday night and it was excellent. Just put it in the microwave and you have a delicious hot dinner. And Basha’s in Sedona keeps courtesy cards at the checkout so you don’t miss out on the discounts.

We only tried it the one night but if the others are as tasty as the meatloaf, you will be well served.

We stayed at Los Abrigados last month in a 1br Jerome unit through an RCI exchange. It was our second trade to LA. We love Sedona, but the road construction that will be ongoing for the next 8-9 years is ugly in contrast to the beauty of the area. While taking pictures of the red rocks out on Airport Road I backed up into a boulder, flipped over the rock and hurt my back. I had the best emergency care at the Verde Valley Medical Center, an acute care facility in Sedona! I can't praise them enough--from the registration clerk, to the (male) nurses,--one took my temperature while the other took my BP--to the ER doctor and X-ray technician. I have never experienced efficient medical treatment like that in N.J. Although I was badly bruised, I was very impressed!
