I just received my first "second chance" offer. I know there is a whole industry of second chance scamming. If the second chance offer appears in the "my ebay" and "my messages" is it legit? I did not access ebay through my email. I closed my email and accessed ebay separately. The notices were posted in "my ebay" section. Any reason to be worried?

They can still be faked. Best bet is to respond asking for the phone number and call them.

Another thing to do is look up the seller of the original auction and ask them using the "ask memeber a question" function.

Most major dealers no longer do 2nd chance offers but many smaller folks do.

And alwasy demand proof of ownership be sent to you.

If you send me a private message with tha auction number I'll take a look at it and tell you my opinion and whether I know the seller. I've dealt waith almost all the large Ebay sellers at some point.

I had one just like yours, did some research and found out the person's ebay account was hijacked. Be careful and do your research.
