Resorts Owned
Point @ Poipu, Lawai Beach Resort, MROP/VRI, Worldmark
$3.59 discounted price per point.
Big push on T&L benefits.
I know it's less tjhan $1/pt resale, any benefit to T&L that makes it worth 417k for 5000 points

Of course not. And I hope that $417K is a typo 'cause that's $83/credit.
Not only is resale less than $1/credit, it's less than 0.10/credit. Those 'benefits' are paid for by the Travelshare dues you pay in ADDITION to the extra cost to buy the credits. So paying an extra $17K (or $417K if that wasn't a typo) for something you can get for nearly free really doesn't make any sense. Best to remember that Wyndham has a well earned reputation for lies and avoid wasting any time with sales, unless you can get at least $150 out of it.

Your post makes me smile. If you keep looking you can pick up a WM for no cost.

Here is a 15k WM credit membership for free, at TSN currently...
They had a 65k for free forever also; usually 10k ones are common...
(Unfort they list their WM credit freebies under Wyndham, but many have gotten it from them as I believe @Eric B kindly pointed out, in several posts)..
Best!

Yup, Timeshare Nation was where I picked up the last one.

Also checkout www.wmowners.com/forum. This is a site for WM Owners by WM Owners. Worldmark and Wyndham have nothing to do with it. There is a section that lists WM Accounts for sale.

Yes a typo 4&$ are the same key. About $17k for 5000 credits. First presentation in more than a dozen years. Been wanting 5000 more to get to 20k, seems like the sweet spot.
one quirk, they said without a new developer purchase we are blocked out from roughly half of the WM room availability.
All the new inventory that T&L has put online we can't see since we bought in Trendwest days and didn't pay for the new unit/door keys (their terminology).
They said our RE licensed sales rep could get reservations that we couldn't get on our own.
Sounds like that is against the bylaws,. I thought all points are equal for any member.

Kids don't want our timeshares so another purchase does not seem wise.
Seen OF Point @ Poipu for free but MFs are whack. WM credits also very cheap on resale as you all have pointed out.

If you need more points for a stay you can rent up to x2 the number of credits you own. Since you own 15k, you can rent in up to 30k credits each use year.

All lies. The only limitation on access to resorts is to Wyndham resorts via Club Pass; and that isn't that great of a deal. The exchange rate is lower, but the credit cost is typically much higher; you would be better off using RCI or renting. The door key line; well that's just ludicrous. With resale credits, you can book any WM resort. Period, full stop.
If you want a total of 20K, buy 5K resale. At 20K, you get another HK. The savings vs higher dues may work out.
The last lie: Seaside sales is well known for pretty sketchy behavior. They essentially ran a large rental outfit out of that office. I think at least some of that was shut down, but wouldn't be surprised if it has surfaced again. None of it has anything to do with whether they are RE licensed or not.

At 15-20K, travelshare or T&L or whatever they are calling it, has no benefits at all. Your travelshare dues pay for the additional RCI and wifi. The additional cost of the credits is just flushed down the drain.

We met a rep at a Seaside presentation that gave us her card explaining that she rented to the public Worldmark reservations. She claimed to have a large client list. We met another rep in Kihei that did the same. Both were smart enough to tell we weren't going to buy anything. After the presentations, I was thinking about these encounters, and thought it would be a good idea to make friends with WM owners, if you needed credits to operate a rental business. This was before the rule changes on how many credits an account could rent.
