[Searching County Records for Deeds]

Bringing this thread back to life from a long time ago......

I can't find my records on the Clark County Assessor site. From what I can see their site is extremely friendly with lots of search options. But when I go to the basic "Real Property" search and type in my "Owner Name" nothing comes back. This is the link I'm using:

I've tested it by typing in generic last names and it works fine. But I put in my last name and nothing comes up. I've been a HGVC owner since 2001 so I would expect my name to appear.

Do you know for sure that you own a deed? Could it be that HGVC holds the deed and you are a "club member" with a right to use that time?

This is the case with my BG ownership. The only owner of record where I own is Bluegreen and my name appears nowhere in the county records.

When I type "Hilton" in your link I see many in the name of Hilton Resorts Corporation.

Good point but I'm fairly certain (is that an oxymoron?) I have a copy of the deed with the Clark County stamp on it and all the parcel numbers and such. I own a 0.00000000001% of the property but that's something!

Try searching by parcel number to see what name is recorded as the owner.

Good idea but another swing and a miss. The parcel number comes up as Hilton. That's likely because the entire property - and all the hundreds of units in the buildings - are under the same parcel number.

Is your last name Sparling? I get seven matches for that name but I'm only guessing. Some peeps use their real name here.

Even the slightest misspelling of last name (on the recorded deed itself, or in conducting any online search) will foil your retrieval efforts.

I'm sure you correctly spelled your own name in your search. Do you have a hard copy of the deed to double check for a name-spelling error therein?

If you have the deed with the stamp it should also have the book and page number you can search by.

SEARCH BY RECORDED BOOK/FILE AND PAGE (AOAD)

You can also search by the previous owner grantor (also on your deed) and find your deed.

With eleven pages of records under Hilton Vacation Club and all having a different parcel number, could there possible be that many different Hilton buildings in that county?

There are several Hilton Vacation Clubs in Vegas- 3 or 4 originally then Elara and a Trump were added to the club. I also know from one of my Orlando resorts that a single resort that was built in multiple phases could have multiple parcel numbers.

Mine are in a different county, but I have to search under "Recorder" and not "assessor." It's also very specific, such as I have to do all caps last name space all caps first name. I kept putting a comma in there at first and that didn't work.

This did it! Thanks, Presley! Going to the "recorder" site for Clark County was the key. I'm not sure what the difference is, but sure enough this pulled up my records. Good work, thanks.
