Hi,

I just bought Wyndham Access. I was never on the old website, but I do see a lot of people unhappy with the search ability.

I have a specific week in August that I am off from work - no kids. I want to go away. How do I search for availability for that week? Do I have to pull up EVERY resort I may be considering and look at them one by one? Is there a way I can specific that I only be shown resorts that are "Luxury"?

Thanks in advance.
Jennifer

You can search by region, state or city. Just click on the View all Destinations blue text below the Location Box on the search. It defaults to a state view but in the top right you can switch it to Region.

Pick a region , state or area.
Put in the dates you want to go.
It will show you all availability in that region, state or area.

Luxury would be Presidential Reserve, but all the places I have stayed have been very nice.

Change the dates to view different availabilities.

I am silver. So once I select a location, is that when I will see the discount (for less than 45 days) and upgrades? I'm trying to wrap my head around this.

Thanks!

Hi,

I'm going to keep adding to this. :) I appreciate the help.

I put in my dates and then selected region. For my dates Aug-12-19, there is nothing available in all of the West or the Caribbean. In the NE, there are a couple of places in NY and thats it. Does that seem right? I'm still in my cancelation window, and I am about to cancel...

I also searched my daughter's spring break week (end of March 2018). Nothing available in the West or the Caribbean either. I'm super confused.

Finally, I was really interested in an associate resort in Napa, so I searched by availability. Other than a stray night every few months, there is no availability EVER?

I'm going to talk to my sales person on Friday, before I rescind the contract. Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance for the help.

While I'd generally recommend RESCIND using the prescribed paperwork method (i.e., letter via certified mail), I'm not sure that "Access" is something that can be rescinded. If that is only a prepaid trial/rental program, it might not be eligible for recision.

If you bought an ownership (vs trial package), there will be recision instructions in the materials -- but likely tucked into a hidden pocket of the packaging. Find it and send it.

As for availability, timeshares are intended to run at full occupancy year round. The successful timeshare owner often books their vacations out as far as possible -- at the earliest reservation windows. (Our next upcoming timeshare travel was booked in April 2017. Our travel dates aren't quite here yet ... but coming up soon!)

Access is Club Wyndham Access, full-fledged points. (I think you're thinking of Discovery, which is a trial program.)

Definitely rescind. Learn about the system, maybe wait for the website issues to stabilize a little bit, and then decide if you want to buy and if buying direct has any benefits for you that are worth the added cost over buying resale.

Silver is 30 days ou r.

If you bought direct from Wyndham I would definitely rescind and do it by CERTIFIED MAIL in accordance with the instructions in your paperwork. Do it quickly as you only have so many days to do it. Do NOT talk to your salesperson because he doesn't get paid if you rescind. Therfore he will do and say ANYTHING TO GET YOU TO KEEP THE CONTRACT TIL THE RESCISSION PERIOD IS OVER. Then he won't return your calls....

If you bought this directly from Wyndham I would rescind as fast as possible and do it by CERTIFIED MAIL in accordance with the instructions in your paperwork. DO NOT CALL YOUR SALESMAN .... he will LIE, mislead and LIE some more. The sales person DOES NOT get PAID if you cancel. They are commission ONLY ... and very good at misleading and confusing the info ALL TO THEIR BENEFIT .... Certified Mail, Return Receipt ... plus a 2nd copy regular mail.

If you have any questions at all, rescind. Then, do your research. At the end of that process, if you decide you want this deal again, Wyndham will fall all over themselves to write it up for you. You have nothing to lose.

But, I suspect that you will find that you do not want this deal, and there are better ways to meet your goals.
