There wasn't anywhere near a million people. That was a piece of fiction, and it would not have been physically possible to get that many people into and out of downtown Seattle, nor to stand that many people along the parade route. Moreover, that would mean that 1 out of every 4 people in the Seattle Metro area was at the parade. I think a more likely count is about 300,000.
