Scams?

I’m not sure I’m in the right area but I have a friend who has a timeshare and they received a letter from Think Hotels wanting to buy their timeshare. Has anyone heard of them and is this a scam for sure? I did google it and rip-off reports said it was but has anyone else experience with this? I just want to make sure I tell her the truth.
 
YES - they will collect a high fee from your friend and disappear with the money.

There are all kinds of timeshares for sell on internet websites - there is no need to send letters to people, unless you are a scammer.
 
Thanks! it looks really real with an attorney’s name from New Jersey. I told them it was a scam but some people would definitely think it was real. I would hate for anyone to fall for it!
 
Below is a thread from Tripadvisor that includes a number of references to "Think hotels." Offers for for up to 3x what people paid for a vacation club. The more interesting references are near the end. Just another attempt to separate people from their money. I bet this is a Mexican timeshare or vacation club. Mailing lists seem to have no privacy. Run Forest, Run......
