Just got a call from (RCI or someone claiming they are from RCI) asking me if I wanted to deposit my 2016 and 2017 weeks into RCI. I told them that I wasn't interested in depositing and that was it.

Could this be a scam? or does RCI really call about depositing your weeks?

If you still have the phone # recorded on your caller ID...
Do a reverse look-up on www.whitepages.com
It hides names of individuals, but shows business names and reports scams.

A look-up that I did today returned this report...

Yes I do. An RCI weeks account my 2016 week was already deposited.

I used to belong to RCI and we received calls from them each year asking if we wanted to deposit our week. We did this a number of times over the phone and it was legitimate. They never ask for money or credit card info. It just sounds to me like the person who called you was just unaware of your account status and was routinely calling members.

However, if you're uncomfortable depositing your weeks over the phone dealing with a total stranger who called you (and is apparently oblivious to your status), then I would recommend depositing using your online account.

Thank you, unless I initialize the call I would never agree to anytime over the phone! After I hung up I thought to myself this could have been a scam, and if it was I just wanted to tell the tug board to watch out!

I think it is probably legit since you're a member and this is common for them to call you unless you opt out of phone calls.

They call all the time asking if I'd like to deposit or if they can help me look for an exchange. My caller I.D. shows RCI.
