Was given some links from a member here, and my wife also found this one when she was searching....

They offer a free timeshare (besides M/F) if you win the bid.. My wife is really liking this resort, and since she loves the Mountains and Gatlinberg, she wants to put this seller and location on her list for when/if we buy down the road..

Anyone know if this is legit? Worth loooking into or a scam???

There are many timeshares that are essentially worthless these days and people are giving them away, including closing costs. Before you buy, make sure this points are enough to get you the vacation you want.

The seller doesn't have a spectacular rating, but it's pretty good. Before you jump, do some research. There are going to be good deals every day on ebay.

Good luck!

Remember just because this owner no longer sees/gets value from this doesn't mean you won't if it fits your needs. This can be a great deal IF you can use it.

I don't know the value of RCI points...but don't forget it is bi-annual and it is $635+124+124= $883 in MF every other year(the RCI is fee of $124 is every year..so you'll pay it twice for one usage)

Anyone have any input on the value of 50k RCI points? i just don't know what that buys

Im in a middle of a transaction with that ebay seller. no problems so far, and i dont expect any

this contract is for 50000 rci points with a mf of $635 at 1.27 cents per point a little more expensive than I like, but not terrible. You should note too, that the RCI points annual fee is an additional $124 a year, and unless you stay at your home resort threre are transaction fees to make reservations. I am still learning to use my own rci points account, so I wont make any recommendations

The free timeshares that are offered are generally ones that they havent been able to sell for even a dollar, usually because the maintenance fees are so high. Unless you find something in that free list that is just right for you or you find something of real value that everyone else missed. id pass on the free offer (I did)

To give you an idea of what 50K RCI points gets you, last year, I used 55,000 points to trade into a 1BR at OKW. This contract would not quite get you there and you would only be using it every other year.

What do you think?

So how many points should I look for? My wife really likes this resort..... I also found one that is every year floating.... Are you guaranteed your week at home resort? Or is that stay based off of points to

I want you to understand that my opinion of this resort was based on my reading of the reviews of the resort ONLY. I have never stayed in the resort and have no personal opinion about it. If your wife has stayed there and/or has toured there, it may be worth owning (if you follow the buy where you are willing to stay strategy) to actually stay there.

If you would be using this resort to trade into RCI points, it still may be worthwhile owning. I just wanted you to know that you would not be able to trade your week and get into one of the Disney resorts. It may get you other great trades that you would enjoy.

If you owned this resort and deposited into your RCI points account two year in a row, you would be able to trade into Disney and you would have 45000 points left over to trade into another resort. Points are good for at least 2 years, and maybe, three. I have never held on to my RCI points long enough to know!

RCI points vs RCI weeks (TPUs)

I suggest that you also read this thread: http://www.tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=147743 which discusses points vs weeks.

What I do not know about the second week that you are interested in (the every year week) is whether or not it has been converted to RCI points or not.
