Hello-

I am looking at exchanging into the San Diego Welk Resort at Villas on the Green. Question is there are 2 "Villas on the Green" with different codes "VLW" and "VL2". I'm sure this means different areas of the resort but does anyone know which area in the resort is for each code?

Also, if you have stayed there which area is nicest and recommended. The Mountain Villas are also available.

Thanks,
Laurie

I could be mistaken, and someone else will correct me if I am, but I believe VLW and VL2 mean nothing for unit assignment purposes. As an exchanger in, they can assign you wherever in Villas on the Green they would like.

I haven't stayed at VOG, by stayed at Welk Resort Villas (LWR, LW2). The unit was great. I'm assuming that since you are not looking at LWR, you must be trading into a 1Br or studio only, since LWR has only 2 bedrooms.

The Welk resort property that all three resorts sit in as fantastic, especially if you have kids. Plenty of activities and impeccably maintained grounds.

The codes used by II have nothing to do with the unit you get assigned - maybe another poster can explain why.

Laurie, personally we like the Mountain Villas better than VOG. They are newer and we think laid out better. Both areas have a nice pool area. VOG is very close to the little shopping area whereas the MV are in the northeast corner of the resort. Certainly more removed but if you like to walk it isn't bad. The VOG units are being remodeled, but I am not sure how far along they are. I assume exchangers wouldn't be given priority for the remodeled units.

As another person mentioned, the Resort Villas, which are dedicated 2BR units are very spacious. They were remodeled over the past few years. Very nice units.

Have fun. It is a nice resort.

Good morning Laurie,

We are owners at Welk in the 2 bedrooms and love the entire resort. Not sure about the Villas on the Green but my advise is to call Welk. The staff there is fantastic as are the units and amenities. We love our unit and the entire area but the new units are not our taste. Reminds us more of upscale hotel in looks. If you have kids let them know that when you call so they can direct you near the waterpark area.
