You should be able to get this rented pretty easily. University spring breaks are starting to wind down during this week, but there are still many schools whose weeks are precisely this week.

Most every university has its own reddit page so I'd contact anyone who may reasonably be a prospect for a week in the San Diego area (which is everyone on earth within "not so expensive" travel distance). I'd for sure hit those Cal State northern Cali campuses and those UNebraska medical students. :)
