I'm looking at San Diego next summer. We've stayed at Wyndham Harbour Lights. It's great for location, and adequate for everything else. The studio is small, but hey, it's downtown San Diego and we made it work for the 3 of us.

What are your thoughts on the Worldmark San Diego? I see they have studio, 1br, 2br, etc. I can do a 2br or 2br deluxe for around the same as the WHL. But what's the catch? Is it the location, the distance from the city or ? Has anyone actually stayed there?

I haven't used a Worldmark Club Pass thingy yet. I have to call for reservations. Are there any issues/requests/quirks of which I should be aware before calling?

There are actually 3 Worldmark's in San Diego and 1 up in Oceanside. The 3 in San Diego are WMTC Mission Valley, WMTC Balboa Park, and WMTC Inn at the Park. Mission Valley has parking but is the furtherest from downtown. The other 2 have Valet Parking or find parking on the street but are closer to downtown..

Sorry, I should have been more specific. Inn at the Park is the only other one I see on the Wyndham website, aside from Wyndham Harbour Lights. That would be the one I'm considering.

Do they actually have 2 bedroom availability at Inn at the Park for your dates? It is very limited.

Also, Inn at the Park is shared between Worldmark and Shell, not sure what phase you'd be in.

I haven't called to check. Good to know. I couldn't find availability on the RCI website, but I'm not sure how that differs from going through Wyndham. I'm new to the TS game, obviously.

Ive stayed at Inn at the Park in a Studio King It has to be the biggest Studio in the system King bed and a really big sofa (not sure if it pulls out)
Eat in Kitchen

Its a beautiful old property waking distance to Balboa Park

Inn of the Park has expensive Valet Parking. Or you park on the street. When my son stayed there he had only a small stove top no oven. They Ubered or walked every where. It is abiut 1.9 miles ,from WM inn at the Park to the Wyndhm Resort you mentioned.

Stayed at the Inn at the Park 2 years ago. My sister with her husband and 3 boys got 2 units. My BIL went and visited his 'ships' while my sister and I tour the area with the 3 boys. Everyone was pleased with the resort .... and would stay there again.

Remember, this is a city-style resort. And the area is urban. Not much to walk to. Nor would you want to walk around this area esp at night. Yes, valet parking .. pretty fast. I covered the units and my BIL pickup the other expenses.

Thanks, everyone. Sounds like Inn at the Park might be nice if we can get in. Thanks for the heads-up on the valet fees. That's pretty standard for San Diego, so we usually Uber.
