Anyone familiar with the San Diego area that can recommend a reasonably priced hotel for early June? (Running the June 4th marathon and need a place for 2-3 nights)
THANKS

San Diego hotels

We have used priceline on all of our trips to San Diego, 4 out of the last 6 years.
We have stayed at the Wyndham Emerald, The Sheraton Mission Valley,
and the Hilton Harbour Island (2 times). The most that we paid for a room has been $67.00 per room. We go during the spring time/ easter week each time , and will be there again this spring.
I only bid on 3 star hotels or better, and have not had a bad room yet.

You happen to visiting on a very busy weekend. There is the Rock and Roll Marathon and College Graduations.

Most quality hotels are around the $200.00 range that weekend.
A few to check out:
Hyatt Regency Islandia
Town and Country

You could also go with the Manchester Grand Hyatt, that is the official hotel of the race.

I might be running the race also. Have you ran this one yet? It's pretty cool. There are bands all along the route. Makes you forget your body is taking a beating.

Many years ago, we enjoyed staying in the Dana Inn near Mission Beach. It was reasonably priced. I think it's still there.

Consider using hotwire as well

Consider Hotwire as well. I usually try to aim for the four star -- or even five star -- places. Three stars might be a little more iffy. Or, look to see if it is a suite as most suites are relatively new. Good luck as San Diego can be expensive.
Look on redweek for a timeshare rental as well.

We, too, use Priceline and bid for 4*hotels. We save lots of money and haven't been disappointed; in fact, just the opposite: we've been delighted.
