I purchased 4000 MVC DC points for $49,343.10 when all the fees are included (~12.34/point) about a month ago. It was supposed to be 6 months same as cash which turned into 3 months same as cash. I learned that when I got an email notification for the payment due. All I received was an emailed credit card authorization form with a fax as well as a mailing address. However, there's no account number anywhere and the phone number listed (800-507-6824) never has anyone answer. If you call it, it will put you on hold for 2 min and then say that everyone is busy and to try again later.

I called the main Marriott Vacation Club DC number and when they looked up my information they said that since I haven't closed I needed to speak with the location that I purchased from. I called them and the sales guy was busy so they said they would have him or the accounting office return my call. I have now been trying for 2 weeks to reach anyone to just pay the balance of what I owe.

Does anyone have any ideas on who I can talk to resolve this?

Where did you purchase at? We switched our purchase from finance to cash and just called the location and asked for the contracts department. The put us in touch with the person we signed papers with. Not the salesperson and they were very helpful

Try Marriott Owner Services @ 800-845-4226. If they can't help you then they should be able to guide you whom to contact.

Wish you had bought resale to save draining your bank account..........

.

If you truely haven't completed this purchase, this is a golden opportunity to get out of this deal! If you can't afford to buy it without financing, you should let it go and buy resale instead.

Isn’t this where our bad debt comes in for our maintenance fees?

I don't believe so, because if the sale didn't get through, it hits the developer's pocket. When there is bad debt in that buyer did not pay up, it goes into foreclosure, and developer should cover the maintenance fees because the developer still holds the property.

NO - If the timeshare deed hasn't been transferred to the OP because the purchase is not complete, it does not belong to them and therefore they don't owe anything. The bad debt comes from actual owners who default on their maintenance fees.
