I was surprised to get a call from Starwood yesterday. At first i understood her to be from the platinum SVn office.

It turned out to be a hard sell on Westin Desrt Oasis(? -- somewhere Southwest US.

She asked if i received the invite in the mail and was following up. I said no. She asked if she could explain, i said when the invite comes I'll read it and if interested i will gladly call back. I said i will forward to receiving it in the mail.

Then she alluded to the fact that it's not in the mail, and started hard selling. I said maam i am in the middle of work and I have to let you go. She blurted i call you later today, i said NO, i'll call you tommorow, i said no, i'll call you next week. i said thank you and Goodbye.

Is Starwood using another company to hard sell?? We are on the do not call list, and I am sure we declined sales calls from Starwood.

Is Starwood trying to dump some property??

We've had calls from a Florida number claiming to be SVO, but on follow-up with SVO, we were informed that it was NOT them.

You might try getting the number from the caller ID and calling them back, or googling the number.

Was the resort Westin Desert Willow? That's Starwood's newest resort.

I was of the understanding that they are sold out of 2bdrm plats.

As of about a month ago, they had a small handful of EOY Even's, no EOY Odd's, and no EYs at all...

Sounds like another phone scam.

The call I had gotten was a voice-mail specifically saying that they were from Starwood Vacation Ownership and it was urgent that I call them back (they left a 800-number).

I looked up the 800-number online (as it didn't match the one for Owner Services), and it was associated with Vacation Property Services (www.soldmytimeshare.com). I obviously didn't return their call.

I informed Owner Services via MSC, and they said "If you continue to receive phone calls from this company please advise them to remove you from their call list." :(

I'm waiting for one of these "sell your timeshare" companies to call me. I'm going to ask them to send me a check for $2,500 to get the paperwork started. Just a deposit that could be fully refundable.

I've been similar getting calls re: my Starwood unit ( WSJ) from "Worldwide Vacations" saying the same thing.

I was polite for a minute until they asked me what my annual income was. I hung up. They called back. I did not answer. The calls I've been getting are from: 321 972 9848

I did get another call earlier in the week from someone saying that they "were calling on behalf of my Allen House from SFX". When I tried to ask a question, he kept speaking over me, so I hung up. 866 855 1214 Odd that they would say "on behalf of your Allen House unit.
More like on the behalf of SFX. I have no problem with SFX, but I do have a problem with a call like this.

That is the SFX membership specials number - hmmm! Maybe time to complain to them?

Same here!!! the caller was promoting some type of starwood vacation package for 11 nights, and in turn you have to do a tour of the property (but not a timeshare presentation) Hung up on her, so called back, I did not pick.

It took four calls and requests to be taken off their marketing call list before they did so. SFX may be a good trading organization (I've never used them) but they've definitely got the call bug.

Denise;

I think you are correct, the name rings a bell.

I think the person was trying to get me to come for a visit.
I wonder if the "mailed" invite will ever really arrive.

I can almost guarantee they will call back, so I will find out more.
