We've lost several dogs over the years and it never is easy. I am sorry for your loss.

I am so very sorry. Our pets are truly family members, as much beloved as our human relatives. May you find peace in this time of sadness. - Jacki

Jim,

Hugs coming across the state to you.
We had to do the exact same thing on Monday. It's so hard to see 'her' empty recliner (yes we spoiled her), and we so miss all the little interactions we had with her on a daily basis.

As others have said, remember the good times. And she'll always be with you one way or the other.

Many hugs back to you too. When I got your mail last night I was up (first of 3-4 times) sitting with her. She seemed to breathe easier and settle down. Now the house seems just a little emptier. Amazing how one small dog can take over the place. I don't think there is a room without 'footprints' of the Princess. A bed here, a toy there, some treats on the counter. While Paula worked this afternoon, I gathered up extra treats, toys and food and took them down to the shelter. They were thanking me even before they knew what was in the box. There are wonderful people who work in volunteer shelters.

May you find peace with the release of your pet. It's what we owe them for a lifetime of love.

Jim

Jim, I hope you will find peace in knowing you did your best to care for and comfort Cherry. I like to think she will be waiting to greet you, tail wagging and eyes bright, when your time comes to go "home."

I'm sorry, Jim, and you too, muranojo. Letting pets go when it's their time is so difficult, but it's also one of the most compassionate acts we humans can do for them. Peace to you and your families.

After 40+ years of T/S ownership, I am no longer "an owner"
Jim,

Just catching up with email and forums since being away a few days. I was so sorry to hear of this news. May she now be running free across the bridge with others we've had to let go.

God Bless you and your beloved furkid too! I nearly missed this in the thread.

I am so sorry for your loss. In our 40+ years of marriage, we have had to make that same hard decision several times. Never easy but the love you received was its own reward.
