Doing two weeks in Orlando. No kid but adult Child and Friend may come visit.
Right now I can find back to back at Cypress, Grande and Sable.
Cypress was my go to but with the construction not sure.
Have done Grande before.
It has been a decade since I did a Palms and I can't remember much about it (thing it was the 3 bedroom, my daughter called it the Brady Bunch house)

So which 2 bedroom would you pick and why (Late December or Early Jan Time Frame)

Sabal is 2 bedroom, Imperial is 3.
This is an older resort, but that doesn’t mean the rooms have not been renovated.
There is a sunken living room that might give a Brady vibe.
The perk is being able to walk over to World Center and use their big pool, original slide and eat at their restaurants or food court without driving in Orlando traffic. It’s also super close to Disney world- esp Disney springs which has a free parking garage and lots of restaurants, shopping and activities.

I believe Sabal has 1 double and 1 twin in the second BR if that matters. It’s a tiny 2nd BR.

And Cypress has a double and a sofa bed in the 2nd BR

I think Royal Palms has 1 queen and maybe a fold out chair in the 2nd bedroom.

We stayed at Sabal spring 2023.

Second bedroom size is not that important. She will only be there for a weekend.

I still really enjoy using the World Center facilities. They are a short walk from Sabal Palms. You have the best of both worlds with the extensive pool and amenities at World Center resort and the peaceful oasis at Sabal Palms. We don't go to Disney that much any more but enjoy this resort more than others in the area. I typically work out (for food and beverage) while on vacation and appreciate the access to World Center, Sabal Palms, and Royal Palms fitness centers while there. Prices at the Sports Bar are fairly reasonable and their salmon is excellent.

I'm assuming you're doing 2 weeks for Disney? If so, I'd choose Sabal hands down. Reason being that it's extremely close to Disney. It's literally right outside the gates and you don't have to get on I-4.

I also recommend Sabal just because of how close it is to the Marriott World Center which is a treat in and of itself. If you book at any of the other two resorts on property, you'll have to either drive there or take the shuttle.

I have this video that details and compares all the Orlando Marriott Vacation Club resorts.

Technically you don't have to get on I4 from any of the Marriott resorts to get to Walt Disney World.

DIsney is not main reason, wife just likes Orlando.
Other thing is Grills. I like to grill when we are at the Time Shares. How do the grilling areas compare or are they all the same.

Unfortunately, I can't say I have too much knowledge of the grilling at Sabal but according to this post, they have several areas for it:

Post in thread 'Marriott Sabal Palms' https://www.disboards.com/threads/marriott-sabal-palms.3929337/post-65035298

I'd personally recommend asking @dioxide45 since he's an expert on those properties.

I've used the grills once or twice at Grande Vista and I can say they are spotless. They get a good cleaning every morning. I assume all Marriott properties are like this because other ones I've traded into seem to have very clean grills, but I don't know about Sabal.

We tried to use the Grills at MGV last week, with some snafus.

One night, two were busy, the other one had no grates. Marriott said they'd come over....but after a considerable wait.....we had to do a poor improvisation in the oven for dinner.

The next two nights.....only 2 or the three grills had grates. I moved ONE of the two grates to the empty Grill....leaving one grill with both grates, and two grills with only one....so at least all three grills could be used. About a half hour later, a Marriott worker changed it back.......... why not bring more grates, instead???!!!

I mentioned in another post....the Backboard had no HOOP!!!! (how much fun is THAT??))

I've used the grills at Royal Palms and they are always clean and work well. Although I didn't use them at Sabal, I saw a few and they were never crowded. Since Royal Palms has the same operation team as Sabal, I assume that Sabal's grills are also well maintained.

We just returned from Royal Palms and I didn't like that the 4 grills were clustered in the same spot. Our building was not near them...

If I remember correctly there are 3 grill clusters at sable- 2 or 3 grills each.
Not a very big property and we had no trouble grilling but just did it one night.

Grande Vista is much bigger and there are several grills in each of the villages.

I personally have never had a problem getting a grill at an MVC and also have no problem asking to have one cleaned or looked at if it is not working properly.

The only MVC resort that I ever had a problem getting a grill was Mountainside during the summer. Large groups would take over all the grills and tables around them so nothing was available for other guests. This occurred daily throughout my stay. They would put tablecloths on tables starting at 10am and keep them through dinner. This is why I avoid Mountainside in June through mid-August.

The grills at Royal Palms are located near the main building and there are several tables nearby. I thought there were other smaller grill areas near other buildings, as shown on the resort map.

Was the grill itself occupied during this times? If not, I will open the grill and use it. I tend to grill if I am staying at a resort for up to 7 days and will not allow grill hogs to prevent me from eating.
