I bought an inexpensive t/s 20 years ago in the Poconos..$4000 (EOY).Actually never saw inside of 1bdrm unit. Bought it for exchanges. I was very satisfied .Just made last last MF..
With being 20 years older, My wants, needs and types of fun have changed greatly..Timesharing and vacationing are totally different now.. I'm happy to make last payment..RTU makes better sense to me cuz there's a light at the end of tunnel..Deeded timeshares keep u paying forever..And we ain't getting any younger.

I vacation more than ever now. There are so many options due the internet..I rent from Owners most of the time.. No more rising MF's and being forced to travel. I go where and when I want.

That is definitely the advantage of RTUs. I have never thought they were a bad concept. Congrats on getting what you needed out of it, and happy travels in the years to come (without that financial commitment).
 
Congratulations! A rational way to participate in TimeSharing. Low up front cost, presumably reasonable MFs, and no disposition costs...
