On my I.I. confirmation the room is listed as F5916. I see F on the resort map (Phase I section). What does the 5, 9, 16 refer to? How many stories does The Royal Sands have? Thanks so much for your help.

PS: I do understand that I am not guaranteed this room. States that right on the confirmation.

5 indicates Royal Sands. The 9 means it is on the ninth floor of the F building, however the levels start at 3 in that particular building. Some buildings do not have ground floor villas.

This map should help:
http://www.mexicondo.com/RS_siteplan_web.jpg

There's also a map at RoyalResorts.com, but I think this one blows up bigger.

Your villa is at the top floor and will have a great view of the entire resort + the Caribbean. You are correct that the location of the specific villa is not guaranteed, but not to worry, there are no bad locations.

Thank you for the information. Would it be helpful to ask for a high floor no matter where it is, or they do not take requests?

You are on the top floor. RS has permanent weeks so you have exchanged into a specific week, unit, etc. You will have a great view. We own F5617 and our view is wonderful--- u are 3 floors up from us.

All the Royals are fixed week / fixed unit; i.e. most of the units will be occupied the their specific owners or their owners' guests or renters. The resort has available for II exchangers only those specific units that were deposited into II by their owners, hence there is not much flexibility for requesting or assigning different units.

Your request has been matched to a good location with a high view. It is possible you might be assigned to a different location - e.g. if there is a maintenance issue, or if an II exchanger who arrived before you did was unhappy with his/her unit and was switched into the one matched with your request. Chances are, though, that you will have the villa to which II matched you.
