I'm looking at a studio contract, less than $500 all in, around $550 MF, and I'm trying to figure out how weeks contracts work. RHC's website is absolutely useless, as there is no mention of weeks-based memberships on the site. Short of getting a contract#/membership# is there anyway to determine the use of a weeks contract? I've searched around here, and it seems like some limit the season, some limit the locations that can be accessed and some limit both...

You seem to have it right. You need that detailed info from the source RHC, so you need the contract or membership#. RHC xfer fee alone is ~$500, watch out!

There have been reports of people here that have been very satisfied with contracts similar with what you're talking about. Maybe they'll chime in.

That's what I figured.

As for the xfer fee, I've got a seller willing to pay it... I'm pretty sure I understand why this is so cheap, but I'd love to hear from those who like this deal.

They're good when they can be used for places like London, Paris, NYC, Rome, and Madrid!

I believe the weeks units are for trade within RHC properties which RHC owns- somewhwere around 15 properties or so I think. I have seen the list- many are Mexican properties, like Park Royal Cancun, Acapulco, Coz, etc.

research first!

With RHC once you buy it you are really stuck with it. So make sure you get the contract number and confirm the details with RHC. I would only be interested in there New York and europe resorts.

"Currently RHC has occupancy rights at Sheraton Cancun Resort & Towers, Cancun; Sol Caribe, Cozumel; Sheraton Ixtapa; Raddison Xanadu, Freeport; Wave Crest, Del Mar, CA; Powell Place, San Francisco, CA; Marriotts Streamside at Vail, CO; Tropicana Golf Estates, Las Vegas, NV; High Point, Orlando FL;, and Brigantine Beach, NJ. Specifics vary depending upon contract in force."

From a resale web site...this is for a weeks membership

I don't think that really tells us much. I wouldn't trust any reslae website to have the facts right. OP needs the contract# and a good rep at RHC.

Royal Holiday Club PLATINUM 40,000 Points Timeshare
Item number: 200024204658

Nice size points pkg just finished on eBay for $3550 PLUS ~$900 in CC and Xfer fees (what a ripoff). I wouldn't own one much smaller than this.

Joe- just pointing out that a weeks membership does not entitle one to use the NYC/ London properties, etc. Weeks allows only use at a handful of places. The points allows everything else mentioned on the RHC site. And, the site I grabbed this from is very reputable. Of course, as with all purchases, buyers should do their due diligance. And, they should not make the mistake of thinking an RHC week will work with RHC's premier properties like NYC and London.

Blondie,

I seem to recall that in a previous Tug thread, a long time ago, someone mentioned that they used their RHC week property to do an internal RHC trade
into either London or Rome.

Again I'm hazy on the details, but I thought that's what they said. If I interpret your post correctly - a member enrolled in the RHC weeks program could not use that property to exchange into one of the RHC points properties. Is that interpretation accurate?

Thanks
Richard

It may not have seemed that way, but I was intentionally nebulous in the answer above. I am a RHC points owner.

Richard, I remember the same thing, thet's why I posted the nebulous answer above.

Allright, where are you, the RHC weeks member who has traded for Cities in Europe?

I have been a weeks member since about 1990, and have been reasonably satisfied with it. It is a 30 year membership, and due to our advanced ages, we were allowed to accelerate the usage to two weeks per year, so our membership is about to expire. We have been able to use all the RHC affiliate locations, such as Kona Coast, Brigantine, Scottsville, etc. Even one in London. We also had the split option, where we could use 4-days at one location and 3 at another. The only problem is that several of the ones in Mexico, namely Cancun, Cozumel, and a few others, have mandatory all-inclusive, which we don't care for.
