Rofr - Dsv I

I guess they do have ROFR at desert villas 1,I was just notified

"At this Point Marriott has waived their Right of First Refusal so we can proceed with the recording of your deed At Marriott Desert Springs Villas 1"
I am happy that my $500 red week 2 bedroom passed!!!!

tom

A $500, 2/2, Annual, Red Season villa at MDSVI?

- "Its almost too good to be true"

Just as a follow up to an earlier post, the closing company that is handling our purchase of a Grand Chateau week is now asking for our DL's for the closing. They don't request it until the title search clears which it just did. Shouldn't be too much longer now before everything is finished - that is unless Marriott drags it's feet in getting the ownership transferred over. Hope not!

Same here. They requested our DL's to transfer Title on DSV I (I did not get the $500 deal, but at $2000 for a Platinum week, I was happy enough).

The OP here found a unit that wasn't listed correctly on eBay, so the seller pulled the listing. OP followed through by emailing the seller who ultimately sold him the timeshare for $500. His diligence appears to served him well if/when everything goes through as anticipated.

Done Deal

I just checked MVCI (my resorts) and my 2 bedroom lockoff at DSV 1 is now showing!!! All went well and I hope with all the changes it is still a good deal at $500.00. The number of points showing is 3225
I don't see it in my Interval account-Does anyone know how long that usually takes???
thanks
tom

Congrats.
You have to add it to your II account and they have to verify the ownership- that can take a few days up to 2 weeks.

I assume you closed before June 20th, since you mention the number of points showing. If you closed after that date you won't be able to enroll in the new points program, but can use your week as prior to the program.

To be clear, the stated policy is close by June 20th, but the intent of the policy is that the transaction was under way before the Points program was announced. So, if the purchase agreement was signed before the Points program was announced, the managers at Marriott have the authority to make exceptions. They will not let anyone in the program who bought after the announcement since those people might be trying to get into the system, but if you closed shortly after June 20th, but entered the transaction in good faith before that date, you can ask for an exception, which I hear they are granting.

I would have thought that too- but I've read posts here by people who were declined and I haven't heard of any waivers, just posts from people who thought they would make exceptions. I hope you are right, because that would make sense.
