The local news here in the bay area is giving his passing a lot of coverage.

He was one of the greatest baseball player in the history of baseball. IMHO
That famous catch that he made over his shoulder is a classic film movement in the history of baseball.

He was the original "five tool player". I think he's the best player of all time. He like many, lost two years to military service during war time. There wasn't anything that he couldn't do. Funny enough he was loved more in New York than San Francisco. The west coast Giant fans favored Willie McCovey for some reason (he was awesome too).
