I'm not sure if this would apply to all Royal Holiday Club (RHC) contracts, but I have/had a 30-year RHC Cancun right-to-use (RTU) contract that was due to expire in 2017 and I wanted to pay it off so I didn't have to worry about annual maintenance fees any more. I wasn't able to pay it off directly, but they do allow owners to "accelerate" usage so you pay two maintenance fees in one year - the current year and the last year of the contract, at the current year rate.

In 2014, I was able to pay the 2014 and 2017 maintenance fees and bank both weeks with RCI. Then in 2015, I was able to pay the 2015 and 2016 maintenance fees and bank both weeks.

According to my last email, I am still a registered owner until the end of the contract period, but my maintenance fees are finished! I will probably be on the hook for any special assessments, but I'm just happy to be done with the annual hassle of paying the fee and banking the week.

I only wish I would have known about the acceleration option 10 years ago, then I would have started earlier and have already been done!

Just thought I would put this out there if anyone else has an RHC RTU contract they want to finish up.

Why was this thread moved?

I can see that it also applies to Timesharing in Mexico forum, but the Royal Holiday Club (RHC) is a timeshare system, and there is a sticky in the All Other Timeshare Systems forum that pertains to RHC.....

accelerated usage is only available for those age 50 and over. I co-own with my sister so was able to do it several times.

If you deposited into RCI, how many TPUs did you get for how many RHC points?
