Rewards Credit Cards

I kept waiting for a $50 credit to show so that my balance due in a couple days is $179 and not $229. Finally called today to be given a song and dance about the current statement already being printed etc etc...

It pays to know what day of the month your bill closes and how long it takes for a redemption to be credited. That way, you can time it so it posts a few days B4 the billing period closes.

Since the credit won't be on this month's bill, you'll have to pay the stated balance in full to avoid finance charges. It will reduce next month's bill.

My Citi-Venture card bill closes on the 21st... I submitted a redemption on Friday (15th) and it showed up last night (18th). The amount was only $46.88, but every little bit helps. So far this year, I've redeemed ~$500 in credits, mostly against expenses for a Baltic cruise.
