Once owned these: FirstFairway@Walden X 2; Lawai Beach; ManhattanClub; PuebloBonitoRose; 4 South Africa--now timeshare-free
I noticed an ad posted in WalMart yesterday that they could restore hazy, foggy headlight covers and today I took my car in and had the job done.

They said they grind off the foggy, hazy part and put a clear coating on the plastic cover. They said it was a five-step process. The cost is $39.98.

I'm really happy with the results. The headlight cover isn't totally clear all over--there's still a little haziness toward the bottom--but it made a noticeable difference in the amount of light out in front of the car tonight as I was driving home. This was done on a '96 Dodge Caravan.

Just thought I'd pass along this information in case anyone else has a similar problem.

Can you post some details as to where and how available. I'm extremely interested. DW will not drive at night now due to such issues.

It was at Walmart. They had a sign posted about the service right when I walked into the store. I went over to the dept. where they do tires and oil changes and that's where they did the work. It was $39.88 and that included both headlights.

Thanks,

I'll look for it. Tomorrow I have football hosting with the guys, so will be out there next weekend.

I did the do-it-yourself kit, also on a Caravan (1993). I'd say it did a 85% job, took 10 minutes, and was a fraction of the price ... don't remember exactly but surely <$15. And there's plenty left to do 5 or 10 more sets of headlights.

Is the haze on the inside or outside of the headlight covers? We have it, but I thought it was condensation from water that had leaked inside.

A friend once told me to use Mother's Mag and Aluminum Paste Polish. I haven't tried it, but she says it works well. You can buy it at Auto Zone.
