We're about to check in to our first stay as owners (!) an open-season long weekend at the North Strip location. Since the casinos are kind of sparse up at that end of the strip, I'm trying to scope out good dining options that would be walkable.

We've got a fancy night out reservation at José Andres Bazaar tonight, and I've also got Fat Choy http://www.fatchoylv.com/ and Flock and Fowl http://www.flockandfowl.com/ on our list. (We saw Fat Choy on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and the short-rib grilled cheese looks incredible)

But, assuming I don't have a heart attack from gorging myself at those places, anyone have other suggestions of good places that are walkable from the Strip/Boulevard resort?

Here is one at Circus-Circus, around the corner from you:

If you check Groupon, under restaurants, there are a number of restaurants in some of the casinos, although not within walking distance (cab?):

And lets not forget Italian, at the Palazzo Casino. Ate here once, yummy:

We stayed at the Strip during Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. The SLS casino is across the street (caveat: big street and big block). There are likely restaurants in there (but we did not try them). I heard that the SLS will be converting to a Sheraton later this year.

It appears that you can catch the monorail to travel to strip restaurants as there is a station at the SLS. (we did not try that during our stay but noticed it for next time.)

Enjoy your stay. We did!

When walked through the SLS last Oct, and there were some places that looked interesting to eat. We probably would have tried one, but we were there at an non-meal time...

Its a bit of a walk, but the place at the Top of the Stratosphere offers a great view. The food and wine are decent...

jose Andres Bazaar, where he is going tonight, is in fact in SLS.

Years ago, Circus Circus had a suprisingly good steakhouse. I'm sure MGM has leased it out by now. I strongly recommend that the Circus Circus buffet be avoided like an ecoli infection. Other than that, one needs to head South on the Strip for good dining, and they will all be at tourist prices. If one were to rent a car, he might find that dining off-Strip pays for the car rental.

Uber is now available in Las Vegas so don't limit yourself to walking.

The Heart Attack place at Fremont St downtown is pretty funny too.

They put you in a hospital gown and your drink is in an IV. The waitresses are all dressed like nurses.

Thanks for the recommendations, everyone.

For future reference, we walked over to Flock & Fowl, and had a really, really, really incredible lunch, today. It's only been open for about four months, at this point, but it's delicious.

I haven't been, but believe it or not, a lot of folks recommend the steakhouse in Circus Circus

It's interesting when international themed restaurants make there way to the US. I travel to Sinapore a lot; this concept was in Sinapore over five years ago. This reminded me to check it out in Vegas next time I'm there.

We're checking out tomorrow (and, by the way, if anyone's checking IN tomorrow, or is already here right now, let me know, because we've got 3/4 of a bottle of bourbon and some coffee, and I'm happy to do a hand-off to another Tugger), and we had really good meals at the SLS, and also at Flock and Fowl, both of which are walkable from the Strip resort.

Also, if you're interested in gambling, the table limits at SLS are very low -- $10 pai gow poker at 9 p.m. on a Saturday night. But SLS is also pretty swank--very clean, not crowded (because it's at the north end of the strip, which doesn't get foot traffic), nice design, and very upscale vibe. It's not at all a bad place to spend a few hours shooting craps or playing blackjack, if you're staying up north and looking for diversion.
