What part of Vancouver? How are you getting around (car, by foot?).

I like Granville Island, I know some folks think it's touristy. I like Bridges there, it's on the water and food is decent.

My dd used to attend UBC and one of her favorite places to eat in Vancouver was Naam, in Kitsilano. She has recommended it to several people who also loved it. I haven't eaten there.

Hi Luann,

Will be staying at the Delta Burnaby Hotel and Conference Center in Burnaby, BC. Also will have a car.

Thanks for your tips.

It would help to know what kind of food and what budget?

The Naam is good but vegitarian, the Salmon House on the Hill has good food and a great view but is expensive, the Boathouse on kits beach has a great location and ok food but it is a chain.

I only mentioned Naam (which I know is vegetarian) because my dd loved it. She's not vegetarian and the people she recommended it to, and who also loved it, aren't vegetarian either.

Haha, sorry Luanne, I just realized that my post made it sound like the Naam was not great. They really do serve an awesome meal, I just thought it should be noted that it was vegetarian since I know that would be a deal-breaker for a lot of people.

Hi. My husband and I spent a month on Vancouver Island, Victoria area, last summer. One of our favorite (and most frequented) places was called Finest at Sea. It's a little fish market that has a truck parked outside that cooks fish and chips and things like that. Excellent and pretty darn reasonable. It's across the park from fisherman's wharf and all the darlling little houseboats. It was much better (in our opinion) than Red Fish, Blue Fish.

We're heading back up to Victoria in August for the Victoria Splash (fabulous) and have already started drooling just thinking about Finest at Sea.
