I have an ongoing search with RCI for this summer and would like to get a resort near Los Angeles. What areas (palm springs, san diego, etc.) are driving distance to LA?

Thanks in advance!

Traffic in and out of Los Angeles is usually terrible. Is there some reason you want/need to be near Los Angeles? Are you planning on driving into Los Angeles daily? The closest in distance would probably be Anaheim or Newport Beach, but that could take several hours. Oxnard, maybe, but again the drive could take several hours. I wouldn't consider either Palm Springs or San Diego as close enough.

Palm Springs isn't exactly close, but do-able for a one day trip. Depending on where you are going in L.A. it could take around 3 hours (less if the traffic cooperates, more depending on location or if traffic doesn't cooperate. San Diego/Carlesbad would be similar, maybe longer. I'd consider Oxnard if you are going to someplace on the north side of L.A. It all depends on where you are going/doing. If LA is your destination, perhaps you should be looking at motels/hotels instead of timeshares. There's certainly enough of them in and around LA.
