Their newest sales pitch:

"I actually work for a company that helps people exit their ownerships. You would not be responsible for the past due fees. When there are past due maintenance fees, we start by contacting our clients (current owners) and asking that they get current on their fees. At that point, if our clients are unable or unwilling to pay, I can put in a request for my company to pay those fees. Worst case scenario, clients and my company can not pay the past due fees (generally because they are too high). At that point, we would cancel the transfer and fully refund the buyer. The buyer is never responsible for any past due fees. The buyer is only responsible for fees due AFTER the property has been transferred into your name."

And let's say you buy a sizable contract based on his words. You default due to unforseen circumstances. You tell them what that person told you, they essentially laugh in your face, tell you there's no written proof, and you get hounded by collections for thousands (if not tens of thousands) in late payments + late fees.

His company is playing on the naivety of many of our members it seems, based on the numerous advertisements listed on our site. Most however, would never enter into a contract with Resort Transfer Group.

I actually disagree with that based on my dealing with them.

I purchased from them few contracts and 2 of them were past due. In one case, Mariah called and paid it off after it was in my name. In the other, I paid it and they gave me a timeshare that was worth twice the past due amount in value. And by the way that was my idea rather then paying the past due amount.

Based on so many dealings with them, I gave them 4.7 out of 5. Only issue I had is the delay in transfer as I felt they were under staffed maybe due to COVID and working from home.

last contract was closed 4 month ago.

I still do recommend when buying any timeshare is to check both usage and financial stopples to make sure everything is in order. Had a similar issue with another eBay seller and it was resolved to my satisfaction.

Where did you get this info from. Is it in their eBay ads ?

During our exchange of emails, I questioned him about his companies past sales on TUG. I wanted to explain that I wouldn't proceed with the sale based on the stipulations he ask for and also because his companies reputation wasn't the best on TUG. After I explained this, he remarked that he understood that and it was a good thing that their reputation was very good on eBay.

They still have multiple listings here but, once it seems it's Resort Transfer Group's, I'll look elsewhere. I'll trust the reviews on TUG rather than eBay.

I do agree with TUG reviews being more trustworthy.

I know there was a long thread about them here on TUG during COVID and most were complaining about delay in transfer. Do you know of any actual case where buyer was left with past due MF or paid for a timeshare and never got it.

In fact I know of a case where a Tugger, that communicated with me here on TUG from the past thread, got a 2BR Plat Marriott Grande Vista for free and it is OK with the seller. As a matter of fact she found out that the old owner had used next year usage during the transfer process and she was stuck with the maintenance fee when it comes due on Jan 1. She was kind of Ok with it as she got the TS for free but contacted Resort transfer and they did contact Marriott and paid for it. Her only complain again was it took long time to transfer.

No, I can't say that I have however, I'm not familiar with every sale that takes place or how it proceeds. I can only relate how my experience was and share that. Perhaps there are buyers who would have no problem with the stipulations of that one sale. I certainly wouldn't tell them not to proceed with it. I can only say what I did or would do.

Keep in mind also, I'm not going to question your defense of Resort Transfer Group. It's an open forum and you're free to do just that.

If you see my previous posts, I had pretty rough reviews of some eBay sellers.

As a matter of fact, I am the one that started the other thread as I was buying an eBay auction from them and they had no feedback. I paid via CC to make sure I have a recourse on them if thing go south. It ended good and I was so happy with it so I ended up buying about 9 contracts from them.

As you see, I have been on TUG sine 2005 and do not post that often. I just like to be FAIR. Believe me if I had any bad issue, I will bring it up as I did with other sellers.

I'm glad everything worked out for you. We simply look for different approaches when dealing with sellers.

I purchased from Resort Transfer Group on eBay. My original winning bid was $504 for an EOY 2Bd Platinum season at Marriott Grande Vista in February 2020. I don’t remember what went wrong with that deal - maybe something with the estoppels so they sent me 3-4 other listings from their portfolio to choose from at no extra cost. I chose the same location, still a 2Bd Platinum at MGV but the replacement was for annual usage instead of EOY. The deal took literally about a year to complete and at the very end after the deed was recorded into the name of myself and my husband, I found out that the sellers went and used the 2021 usage and did not pay the 2021 MF. I contacted Resort Transfer Group and they tried to get it straightened out with their sellers. In the end, I don’t believe that the sellers ponied up the MF because I know that Resort Transfer Group contacted Marriott and paid the MF under my account number using their own credit card. I seriously doubt they got reimbursed from their seller but regardless, they did right by me. Yes, it took a long time to close the deal but I ended up getting a 2 bedroom platinum annual season for free and because of the pandemic, I couldn’t have used the TS that year anyway so it was a great outcome in the end.

I bought from them last September. I sent in the paperwork immediately and it was in my account maybe 6 weeks later. It said that usage would be available, but it was not. It was going to be a flexchange deposit anyways, so I wasn't too put out about that considering the price that I paid.

I “bought” a Wyndham CWA unit in January 2020. Never got the unit never got a refund. They are literally the WORST eBay seller I have ever encountered.

I purchased a TS @The Colonies. It took forever to close. I got it on eBay for $200. It was advertised as my week begining in 2021. The sellers banked the 2021 week since they paid the MFees for it and it hadn't transferred yet. RTG reimbursed me for my purchase price and that was it. I was warned about them but I am glad it worked out in the end.

I bought a Wyndham South Shore account from Resort Transfer Group. I purchased in August, and the title was transferred and paperwork submitted to Wyndham in early September (very prompt).

After Wyndham finished the transfer 3 months later, the account was about 6 months post due on maintenance fees. Since the contract I had with RTG requires the seller to pay until transfer was complete I contacted them and they promptly sent a check to make this right.

I was quite pleased with RTG.
