Rescind westgate contract

I made a horrible mistake by falling for the quick talkers while visiting westgate myrtle beach Sept 12- 19th. I luckily found this site with all this information before my rescind period is up. The timeshare I purchased is in Florida so I have up to 10 days and will be sending my letter out today along with all the paperwork I have. I will send the material separately. Thanks for the great tips everything will be certified and insured. I will post update.

Congrats on your rescision. You have saved a ton of $$.
Be sure to send it to the admin office specified in the contract (or CD).
Do not send it to the sales office or accept any calls from sales. It can disappear there.
Sales weasels have nothing to do with rescissions (only trying to save commissions).

A good move to rescind! What you paid thousands of dollars for can be had on the resale market for just pennies on the dollar (although I would never recommend buying any Waistgate Timeshare).

Just remember that they legally have up to 45 days to issue you your refund but it usually does not take that long so if it does not come immediately, as suggested above, don't panic by calling the resort. That will not accelerate the process. Keep an eye on your credit card activity to see when the refund comes.

So if you bought in because you wanted to have a vacation ownership then take time and learn then buy resale.
