Resale week inventory vs point inventory at Marriott Ko Olina

I think that's 45-60 Business days currently. Mine recently was about 75 days total.
My Ko Olina OV Week 51 closed on 4/17/2023. I am still waiting for it to show up on my account. Escrow quoted me an average of 10 weeks to transfer ownership. [Edited to ocean view, there is no ocean front option]

My most recent purchase (an Orlando MVC resale unit) took just under 3 months from the winning bid on ebay until I was in my MVC account. That's probably about the fastest you'll see as it got through ROFR and title in about two weeks.

We have 2 weeks at KoOlina. If we want to go to different resort we rent the KoOlina weeks and rent at other resort. I have no patience to wait for a trade
But we’re selling both KoOlina weeks after 20 years. Very good renters, make about $2000 to $2500 over maintenance fees. But going more to Caribbean now since it’s much closer than Hawaii
Posted both weeks for sale on TUG and Redweek

Have any points owners been successful in reserving a three bedroom unit? I assume you reserved it at exactly one year or greater out? Also since Ko Olina has two bedrooms without a lock off are there also 3 bedroom units that are not lock offs? I ask because I would like to reserve a three bedroom in the Naia building and I know thats where the two bedrooms non lock off units are.

I have been able to reserve 3br MV and OV units using points.

All 3br units are lock offs at Marriott Ko Olina. 3br lock offs into a 2br and a studio. 3br OV units only in Moana and Naia has 3br OV and MV units.

If I own two weeks (same size 2BD OV) but one week was purchased directly from Marriott and the other was purchased resale, can I still book 13 months out if booking consecutive weeks?

Provided that the consecutive weeks are for your ownership season.

Question on kind of an old thread. But I have been digging! I am buying a week 51 starting w 2024. It is an ocean view 2bd, 2ba. We’ve been to the resort a couple times buying a week on redweek but now we are going to buy the week forever! Ha.

Anyway, I see this takes a while to close… are we absolutely guaranteed to be able to stay at week 51 or should we get the current owner to make the reservation and transfer the name on close?

Thanks

Not guaranteed, get the owner to make the reservation and include it or make the usage year start in 2025

Since it's a single week (Platinum Plus Holiday) tied to week 51, there should be guaranteed availability until the point where MVC can take it, I believe that's 60 days out. You'll still need a reservation. This year there is no week 53 so the weeks should all be the same calendar week other than start day of Fri, Sat or Sun. If you have a preferred start day, I'd still have the seller make a reservation and as noted, make certain that this years week is included if you're paying the fees.

I have reserved a week 51 and 52 around 5 weeks before check in. The first year of owning those weeks I mistakenly thought MVC worked like DVC regarding fixed weeks ownership. Called to use my week and was told I did not reserve my week. I thought ohh great we are so close and there is no way there is availability this close. Agent looked and gave me Fri, Sat or Sun check in days. Now there was no points inventory. Have not done it since but just called yesterday to reserve my MKO weeks 51 and Aruba 52.

If you dont mind posting your puchase price this would be a good data point. You can also add this to rofr.net as that is a website where wV can see what has passed or failed ROFR.
