Resale: Club Inventory Activation fee question

I purchased a resale in Florida through Grand Vacations Realty, LLC. The Club Inventory Activation Fee is $560, instead of $349. I assume the fee is higher because I bought from a third party. But Grand Vacations Realty, LLC and the title company, Grand Vacations Title, LLC are both subsidiaries of Hilton Grand Vacations Inc. The agent has an HGV business card. How is GVR a third party?

Its because you bought resale. GVR is not HRC, probably because HGVC was spun off and went public in Jan. You could try contesting it, they might refund the difference.

Look on the bright side, you saved a bundle buying resale.

Thanks for your input. I can try to get the difference but probably will not result in my favor. FYI: I looked up the Hilton Grand Vacations Inc SEC filing and there are 26 subsidiaries including the two mentioned and Hilton Resorts Corp and HGV Club. I attended a vacation sales pitch (May 2017) at Parc Soleil where a timeshare was being sold by Hilton Resorts Corp and the real estate broker listed was Grand Vacations Realty, LLC (both same Orlando address).

That is an interesting scenario. Just out of curiosity, how did you come to use Grand Vacations Reality for your resale transaction? Did you find and purchase something off the web or did you buy "resale" onsite at an affiliate resort?

I bought a resale at a HGVC resort where there was a sales office onsite. Agent worked for or represented Hilton Grand Vacations (it's on the business card). I'm thinking that, in this case, Grand Vacations Realty is an "Affiliate" of Hilton Grand Vacations when it comes to the Club Activation fee.

Sounds to me then the activation fee should be $349.
