Wifi: Had terrible service with Pocket Wifi, as it quit working after day 1. Couldn't get our money back because we'd pre-paid it outside the 3 month window where you can dispute charges. We ended up paying for the onsite wifi, which was expensive, but worked. We had no trouble connecting at the pool.
Had I only listened Lisa????? it was very frustrating!

And expensive. We paid $100 for the stupid thing and it capped out on Day 1 after claiming that we'd used 1 gb of data. We were only using our cell phones to check email and check websites for weather. No streaming. So we ended up paying for the exorbitant Pocket Wifi PLUS exorbitant HRA wifi. Never again.
In contrast, last month we traveled to Grand Cayman. Verizon services Grand Cayman so we signed up for their international data plan for $32/month ($40 before my corporate discount) for 100 texts, 100 voice calls and 100 mb of data. In an entire week, neither of us exceeded 100 mb of data. Yet PocketWifi was saying we exceeded 10x that amount in 1 day.
Don't say you weren't warned!![]()
Since you were on a Wifi connection, your phones may have been silently downloading app updates in the background, which could easily consume 1 GB. When connected to Verizon, your phones would have behaved differently since they know they're on a metered connection.
I suppose that's possible, but if that's the case, it would cement my advice to not waste your money on PocketWifi, no? You'll pay $100 to silently update your apps.
We've had T-Mobile the past few years. The free international roaming is great. Yes, its not fast enough for streaming, but fine for basic email checking and a little web browsing or social media. While its just 2G speed, nobody else is on the 2G network, so its speed is consistent and reliable.Anybody have any experience with T-Mobile in the Bahamas
Perhaps, but your previous message seemed to imply that PocketWifi was not being truthful in claiming that you had consumed 1 GB. I was just pointing out that it may have been accurate. But I agree that a Wifi hotspot with a low data usage cap is a bad investment.
We used the resort wi-fi on our last visit. Yes, it is pricey, but it was fast and reliable.
no, they have the same outlets and voltages as the us.Do you need an electrical adapter for Harborside (being from the US)?
Can we use the COVE at Atlantis? Can we go everywhere? every pool? or we have restrictions?
To elaborate a little further than Denise: the pool between the Cove and Reef, known as Cascades, is exclusive to Cove Reef/Guests. But this is no big deal as its out of the way and has no special features. Can we use the COVE at Atlantis? Can we go everywhere? every pool? or we have restrictions?
Awesome..thanks so muchTo elaborate a little further than Denise: the pool between the Cove and Reef, known as Cascades, is exclusive to Cove Reef/Guests. But this is no big deal as its out of the way and has no special features.
The beach adjacent to Cascades (known as Paradise beach) has seating and services just for Cove/Reef guests, but again, it doesn't have any special features and is only easily accessible through the Cascades area, which itself is not that convenient unless you're staying in those towers.
The Cove Pool, formerly known as Cain at the Cove, is just for Cove adults (18+). Its a swank-a-lux daytime nightclub vibe. No slides there, but a few gaming tables and luxury daybeds.
Cove Beach and the Baths Colonnade Pool, which are close to the Cove tower, are for all guests. And all guests can use the bars and restaurants at the Cove/Reef.
