Requalifying an SDO 2br plat 1-52

Correct on the company 47/49. Additionally, Starwood was still selling company 47 inventory when they raised the Sheraton flag back in 2000 even while they had company 49 established with three seasons.

It was a good for sales but from a servicing standpoint, it was difficult at times especially when the agents needed to use StarOptions to book reservations. They would sometimes quote company 49 inventory to company 47 owners....not good when you are talking about January weeks!

Got it. Is this an SDO only thing, or should I be reading my SBP (and any other resorts Starwood purchased) documents more closely to see what it says?

Starwood handled the Broadway plantation differently....they created new seasons with the new buildings.

If I were to buy a resale SDO 2br plat 1-52 (not TRUE plat) and then requalify it, would the SO's be 81,000? Also, the MF's for the 1-52 plat seems to be much lower than the 1-21, 50-52 plat. Would the MF's go up if I requalify it?

If you want something with only 81.000 SOs to retro/requal then the real platinum bigger one BR is much cheaper and has lower MFs that the 1-52 2 BR that offers the same number of SOs

James:

Do owners have this company 47 or 49 info someplace. I found this to be VERY difficult to determine. Is it on the deed? Or perhaps when they log on to mystarcentral? Or does only someone at Starwood have this information?

Thanks!

Katherine

It isn't on my deed. The SVN rep told me when I called to bank my week. Others have said all the 1-52 float units which were Embassy are company 47.

I should have said "I am so gullible, it is a wonder I bought my timeshares resale":D

Agreed. But very hard to find! That's what I'm REALLY looking for is a large 1br plat WHM, SDO or WKV. If any of you know of one that's available, let me know.

Not to totally hijack the thread, BUT, a poster was talking about depositing the 2 bd lo as 2 sep. units. Do the experts here think that with an II deposit, depositing a l/o as 2 sep. units instead of one is better or will the one large 2 bd get higher value trades. Lastly does this need to be determined at deposit time or an I deposit the unit and then trade it in pieces

With the 3 day Starwood priority in II, 1 bdms. can "see" 2 bdms., so I would deposit separately.

It must be split before deposit, once you deposit it, you can't make changes.

But I agree with the others that if you are going to pay a lot of money for a developer purchase to retro a resale, you should retro something with 148,100 StarOptions.

Otherwise, why not purchase a platinum 1 bedroom WKV with 81,000 transferable SO's (as you suggest) and not need to retro anything?

That auction is off limits for me as it is being bid on by a fellow TUGGER. I hope others will not bid against her either, as we should be here to help each other - not cause each other to pay more than we have to for our resales.

Um.... well, that's a nice sentiment. And great for whomever is bidding on it! But... I'm not sure we're really here to prevent a free market from finding its own price... ;)
