Inspired by FlyerTalks "Report your platinum upgrade" threads, I'd like to start compiling a list of successful trades via SVN so that folks have a good idea how succesful their attempts might be. (Another related thread may be to report your II trades.) What I'd like to capture is:

1) What property, season and villa size do you own? How many *Options?
2) What property and season did you want to trade into?
3) Your dates of travel
4) Check-in day (Fri, Sat, Sun)
e) How far out did you call (date and time)?
f) Were you successful?

I'll start:

a) I own WKORV-N, platinum, 2 bdrm l/o
b) I wanted to trade into WSJ

e) I called 5/30/09, which was exactly 8 months out, at 9am EST

I own 2 BR Platinum Kierland.

As a TOTAL NEWBIE who had no idea I had no chance of getting St.John, called starting about 7 months out every ten days or so. Fourth call got me President's Week - 3 bedroom! That was Feb, 2005, Friday check-in.

Next year I couldn't use Kierland and offered it to my oldest and his family. They had gone with us to St. John. Asked if he wanted me to try Harborside and he said fine. He gave me three dates in January 2006. Called 7 months out and one of the dates (January 8th?) was available.

Only tried twice and I got real lucky both times.

I have traded into HRA 7 years now and have been successful each and every time. 6 years have been in May (same week) and 1 year was Jan/Feb.

So, what I'm seeing her is that SVN Tuggers want to trade into Harborside. I have no desire to go to Harborside. What other reservations have folks gotten?

I don't belong to SVN since I am a lowly non-mandatory resale buyer. I have traded through II twice to Westin Maui. Both times I used my Villas of Cave Creek (a Sheraton managed independent resort) unit bought resale on e-bay for under $1000. I see no advantage for me to buy into SVN, If I wanted to go to Harborside, then maybe. But if I want to simply go to nice Sheraton/Westin resorts in the US, no way.

While this is probably only considered a minor exchange by many, we're going to Orlando and am glad to have gotten 12 nights instead of 7 and we only need 1 br so to us--it's a winner
 
My intentions for starting this thread was to create an ongoing quasi-database for SVNers to evaluate their chances of snagging SVN trades to various resorts. If you want to debate the merits of SVN vs. II, which is certainly a worthwhile topice, I'd respectfully ask that you open up another thread.
 
the first year we only owned at HRA and we couldn't go so we went to:

sbp 4nights
svr 4 nights
wmh 4 nights
pga 3 nights

the only resorts we have not been to : all hawaii (and that's by choice)
colorado ( by choice) and wsj and we are doing that this april.

booked cancun on a trade.

booked 2- 3br's using options for 2009.

been very happy with trades.

Thanks Lisa-as a network newbie, I'll certainly be watching to see what my future chances are of getting into 'more exotic' resorts in the future
