Hi! We own a 1 bedroom gold week, which trades platinum in II, at Harborside every other year. We have been using it to trade in II recently as it pulls good trades. When we bought it, our maintenance fees were about $500 each year, or $1,000 for the unit. They have skyrocketed to $1000 a year, or $2000 for the unit. I know others are dumping their Harborside units but we do like to go to it from time to time and if we drop it we bump down in ownership status.

I have noticed that if I pick a good week to go, on redweek past rentals show me I could cover the maintenance costs. I think a better option would be to rent this unit when we don't use it, but not sure how to do that as never done it before. Advice? Our next year for it is 2025. Would appreciate any help. Thanks!

Your Status in Abound is based on the club points you have associated with your ownership, or the level you were grandfathered in to.

If you reduce your ownership your Owner benefit level will reduce to the associated level relating to your club points that will exist for your ownership you retain.

Renting a unit at Harborside is not difficult
But there is lots of information you should have in mind before proceeding
There are lots of threads on TUG that deal with the information you need
You should spend some time reading and educating yourself on the Rental process
If you have some specific questions regarding the rental process
You will get lots of help
If you want to avoid a lot of education and just move to the rental process
Redweek full service rental process is a reputable way to go
