Those of you who know me, know that I have posted many times that renting of II weeks is prohibited.
Yesterday I had II wrongly accuse me of renting weeks on EBAY and do to the suspicion my account was locked. I had gotten a message on the II website to call Customer Service which I did.
I was told that my account was under review for the selling of exchanged weeks on EBAY. I explained that I have never done that but never the less I was told that I would hear back from II in 2-3 days regarding the issue.
Now that I was annoyed at the accusation I tried getting to the department that handles those issues but had no luck getting to them. I took a shot and emailed Craig Urbine who many of you know used to be an II supervisor who was on the Ask II board. He had helped me in the past when he was with II so I thought he might still have a contact.
He got right back to me with a contact and within a couple hours after calling the VP in that department, my account was unlocked and many apologies accepted. Thanks to Craig I didnt have to wait a couple days for a resolution.
Apparently there was an EBAY auction that was for the same unit/dates as one I have confirmed and the seller was also from NY. An overzealous manager looking for members with the same unit/dates from NY then locked my account assuming it was me before actually looking into it further. I have been told the person who did this will be spoken to about it.
I just wanted to let TUG members know that II is indeed actively looking for those that rent exchanges.
