Renting a flexible timeshare week?

I have a 2b/2b lock off to rent this year. Do I book the weeks and then post them for rent? OR Can I post the ad allowing the renter to pick the week?

Booking of the weeks and posting an ad for renting is going to cause you less headaches. Having renter pick the week means that what is requested may not be available and also that the renter will often change their mind about the week and ask you to change the dates for them, again and again...

I hope you mean 2023, rather than "this year," because it's really late to plan a rental now. The popular dates are past, fall is the slowest season of the year for rentals, and many resorts are booked solid for the rest of the year..

The best strategy is to book the highest demand week you can, as early as you can, and advertise that specific week. It's just not workable to let renters pick the week, because inevitably, you will get requests that are too late to fill. Most renters don't plan a year ahead - but as the timeshare owner, you definitely should.

Log on to your resort's reservation system. Look at the inventory and see what weeks are left.

I agree with the previous replies. You must reserve an available week and post that for rent. Potential renters are going to ask for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years, which were probably booked by other Owners, 12 months in advance.

When I rent, there is nothing more annoying than owners who put up those open-date reservations on Redweek. Why? 99% of the time the reservation you want isn't available and you waste so much time. That's just my 2 cents. I now ignore those ads.

I've gained some very valuable information from this post! I have a floating rental week posted here on TUG as 1-52, 2023. I'm a newbie renter. I will now book the high demand week and change my ad. I can always change the week if necessary and it's available. THANKS TUGGERS!
