Bonvoy status carries no weight for a MVC unit assignment. The only way to get a priority is to rent privately from a member and have them make a request since you'll be treated effectively as the member. You'll get the view type wit a direct rental and be mid tier for assignments. If it's a higher season you're likely to be low on the priority list due to the high occupancy by owners and the way MGO assigns units. If it's a lower reason, just making a reasonable request will give you a good chance of success. Having multiple units concurrently or consecutively will also give you a higher priority.I am a platinum lifetime and am considering a week rental at marriott grande ocean and was wondering which reservation method bonvoy site.interval getaway or redweek would give me priority as to building and view. Thanks
Your view is not guaranteed if you book through interval. Often you get the view assigned to the deposited unit, but likely the lowest view in that catagory.I am a platinum lifetime and am considering a week rental at marriott grande ocean and was wondering which reservation method bonvoy site.interval getaway or redweek would give me priority as to building and view. Thanks
Paying cash on the Marriott Int'l website or renting directly from an owner on Redweek will get you the view category you reserve (which is not true of II). But in both cases you will be at the tail end of room priority since you neither own at Grande Ocean nor have MVC status...Marriott Int'l status doesn't cut any ice.I am a platinum lifetime and am considering a week rental at marriott grande ocean and was wondering which reservation method bonvoy site.interval getaway or redweek would give me priority as to building and view. Thanks
MGO will treat someone who rents from an owner the same as the owner for assignment purposes.Paying cash on the Marriott Int'l website or renting directly from an owner on Redweek will get you the view category you reserve (which is not true of II). MKO told me that if I was not occupying room, my view assignment was going to move down in priority.MGO will treat someone who rents from an owner the same as the owner for assignment purposes.
Also true for the resorts at which I own…those who rent from owners are placed somewhere above II traders and below those exchanging in through Abound Points.MKO told me that if I was not occupying room, my view assignment was going to move down in priority.
For an owned week that is not the case based on several experiences and discussions but I suppose it depends on who's doing the assignments and what info they actually have.MKO told me that if I was not occupying room, my view assignment was going to move down in priority.

That may be but their official policy is a renter is lower on the totem pole. I've never had a renter complain to me about my GO OF gold weeks so whatever it is it seems to work. I personally don't think any of my other Marriott resorts take this position. For an owned week that is not the case based on several experiences and discussions but I suppose it depends on who's doing the assignments and what info they actually have.
That is mostly directed at those not renting from an owner. That may be but their official policy is a renter is lower on the totem pole.
