Resorts Owned
Vantana - Grand Luxxe Residence Club, Villa Group, World International Vacation Club
I am an owner at Vantana Grand Luxxe Residence Club and have received a request from Travel World Vacations Inc. to rent a week or more of my membership there in November. They do not ask for any up front fee. Just wondering if anyone has dealt with this company before?

If they called you, you are being targeted for a scam, as Karen already said. Do not talk to them.

No one is out there renting timeshares in Mexico for big bucks, I don't care how terrific your timeshare is.

Run run run.

Did this come out of the blue? If so, I call scam.
Thank you Karen for your thoughts regarding this. I have not gone forward with their of requesting how many weeks I would like to rent as well as telling me that as the owner I would be responsible for paying the reservations/owner usage fee. They told me also that the escrows contract states that I will be reimbursed by the lessee. I was also told that once I signed the guaranteed contract, and have taken care of the reservation fee ($1,500.00) I would receive the total rental amount minus their 5% commission, plus the reimbursement funds for the same reservation I took care of. As I previously stated today I have informed them that I will not be going forward with their offer and anticipate a quick response as to why I did not want to go forward with their rental offer. I am curious though, just how they would receive their 5% commision if I had arranged through my timeshare company payment to them for the reservation/owner usage fee allowing a booking to take place. My timeshare company and the rental company I do not believe are not affiliated. I have in the past received a number of buy offers for my ownership of which none I took, including the most recent one on April 25th from Accelerated Sales and Marketing LLC offering to buy my weeks for more than I even paid for them. I expect as with a lot of these offers down the line in the process one is asked for a type of fee to be paid in order to proceed. If it is too good to be true and your gut tells you your not comfortable with what is being offered I recommend taking your advice Karen, as well as the others offering their thoughts also and keep your funds in the your bank. Again thank you for all taking the time to respond to me and all your thoughts.

It's not in your best interest to communicate with them any further - ANY communication just encourages them and will result in a lot more scam emails because the will share/sell your info. You should cut them off and block their emails. Hopefully, they don't have your phone number .

The 5% commission only serves to make the process sound legitimate. There is no commission and there is no renter. Any "reimbursable fee" that would be paid by the lessee (there is no lessee) would never be reimbursed to you. You would be paying into a nonexistent escrow account, and problems would suddenly happen along the way, requiring more money from you - which of course would be "reimbursed"...

If you are ever contacted out of the blue by phone or email from someone wanting to buy or rent your timeshare, it's a scam. Ignore them or respond by saying you don't deal with scammers.

Thank you Denise, I have now blocked their email address and they did not have my phone number.

If you block their email address, what will you do for entertainment?

What about this made you possibly think that this could ever in any way be legitimate?

Not that there is any doubt that Travel World Vacations Inc is in the scamming business but here is some more info to confirm:

This is the SCAMMER GAMEPLAN:
  1. Create a fake name by throwing the following names in a hat and pulling out any three - International, Management, Property, Travel, Access, Luxury, Network, Services, Solutions, Global, Getaway, World, Marketing, Equity, Consultants, Group, Acquisition. For example, a new name could be Global Property Consultants or International Management Services or Equity Acquisition Group.
  2. Create the website that goes with the new fake name. Add fake reviews. Add verbiage from legit websites so you sound sophisticated.
  3. Search the internet for a business office building in any city. Be vague such as leaving out a suite number. Add your new address to your website.
  4. Create an internet phone number using the prefix in your selected city and add to your website.
  5. Obtain a timeshare owner list, may need to bribe a resort employee
  6. COLD call the timeshare owners and promise big bucks because you have a buyer or renter for their timeshare.
  7. Convince the timeshare owner that they need to wire funds to release their big check. Tell the owner the wired money will be refunded at closing.
  8. When the timeshare owner wires the money, call them again and tell them they need to wire more money. Keep doing this until they don’t wire anymore.
  9. Stop responding to the angry scammed timeshare owner.
  10. Keep calling other timeshare owners
  11. When the word gets out that you are a scammer and the heat is too much, go back and start at step one again.

If you are renting your weeks the only entity that you should be paying is Vidanta directly to secure any specific reservations. There would be no need for you to pay anything into an escrow account. They need to pay you, not you paying for anything. This goes for both selling and renting weeks.
