Does anyone know if the rental car agencies Priceline uses for Maui actually charge for a 2nd driver? Last April we got a Priceline rental in Kona with Budget and was told that most of the agencies on the Islands didn't charge for a second driver, even through Priceline.

I've got a mid-size car reserved through Costco/Alamo a week from now for $158/week which includes an additional driver. I'd like to make a bid to see if I can get it for less...but the additional driver charge would eat up any savings unless I bid $5/day...which won't be accepted.

Anyone have any experience with Priceline and Maui recently?

I don't think you can take anything for granted w/PL rentals. To be safe I'd just assume you were going to be charged for the extra driver & go from there.

We have won rental cars from Priceline (midsize for $14 a day) by bidding within a week of our departure twice. Both times I was asked if I wanted to include a second driver for an additional cost.

If that $158/wk includes taxes and all fees I may have to join Costco. Best I've been able to do is Avis on Kauai for 409.32 for two weeks for a mid sized.
